lets see.....
As a result of 9/11, American Nationalism increased and
they appreciate their country more.

It made the Patriot Act, Guantanamo Bay, 9/11 Commission and the War on Iraq

It gave you more metal detectors, X-ray machines, Backscatters, that detect bombs in shoes, bags and liquids

It provide you with oil.

You have the Global Guardian, Financial assistance, CIA and the FBI and FEMA.

I think its safe to say that what 9/11 done for your country it's has discredited by the atrocities, but YOU wouldn't have extra security without the advances 9/11 gave you.

9/11 dragged a barren country like America years ahead of itself during the event and if you watch the documentaries, it appear that a great deal of security has changed since.

It's security for your own good!

i do no longer thank 9/11 for crap! The terrible act committed via muslim extremist have place extra hatred for muslims interior the air, brought about an unneccesary conflict to take place, and fee the lives of a number of of my united states adult males. secure practices has continuously been tight in airports, they only had to polish a splash brighter after the activities of 9/11. fairly of finding for Columbian drug runners, now they're after muslim terrorists, however the methods have not fairly replaced. The patriot act enables the government to invade my privateness at any time they decide to, that's a contravention of my constitutional rights.... No sir, i do no longer "thank" 9/11, lots as I weep that it occured!

Security for our own good?

So security is killing random people in Iraq? Not to mention sending soldiers to a foreign land to "die for their country." And for what? Iraq clearly didn't cause 9/11. The hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emrites, Egypt and Lebanon. So why is America in Iraq? Well you said it - OIL. So you are willing to kill innocent people so people like you can make more money and possibly lower some of your costs.

And nationalism? Please. The only thing that is "uniting" the country is the renewed and stregnthened hatered and discrimination of Muslims. And wait, I know what you're thinking: "We deserve it... It was our people... We caused 9/11... take it up with our fundamentalists..." But guess what, that was nineteen out of how many millions of Muslims. And you can't tell me members of other religions haven't done wrong. The KluKluxKlan? Christian right?

These methods don't even work. Tell me how you can hold up a family of seven travelling with five, seven and sixteen yearold children and grandparents just because of their name and/or religion. It was "random." But for some reason these "random" checks seem to always happen to us. Why not a white man travelling by himself? And what you can bring on a plane? I've got news for the security team: A five-yearolds allergy medicine is not going to blow up the plane -- it's going to save his life from a deadly peanut allergy.

And honestly, how can say something was good when it cost us the lives of 2, 992.

"Security" at the cost of others.

Before you start lecturing us from under that rock where your pathetic little country is at, you better get your facts straight.
There was nothing good at all about 9/11. It was an attack perpetrated by stupid deranged cowards on a nation at peace, against regular people peacefully going about their business. There was nothing good about it.
If you can dismiss a country as dynamic as the US as "barren", it is obvious you are ignorant about the USA. I dont know what country you are from, but if it produces subjects like you, I know for sure I never want to go there. It is disgusting how all these little unimportant backwater countries sit in smug judgment of a nation like this one which has repeatedly saved the world from slavery and domination, and is usually the first one to render aid when there is a catastrophe. People in this country voluntarily gave help to the citizens of a nation which is our sworn enemy when that nation was hit by a severe earthquake. I doubt that anybody in that miserable sheep pen of a country you have would have ever done anything like that.
How dare you sit there in your smug stupidity and tell us it was for our own good that over three thousand of our fellow citizens were murdered! If you had lost loved ones in that cowardly event, I doubt you would be prattling on about how it is for our own good. Please follow the link below to see what people like you are known as.

All of that extra security and we're still the most free country in the world! We still have the most liberties. We still have the most rights! We still guarantee the right of muslims to practice their religion!

America was already great. Even your most dastardly deed did not diminish that.

And to think that our enemies kill their fellow muslims for wearing the wrong clothes!

OBL underestimated our response. Clinton is retired and the new guy does more than launch a few cruise missiles at the rocks of the 14th century. Y'all lost your training bases and we won't allow you new ones in Iraq.

Your sarcasm is scathing to say the least. I don't think much good came from 9/11 . I see some of your points but the main point is severely flawed. It's almost like saying a kick in the ball$ is good because you learn that it hurts. The lesson taught isn't always worth the lesson learned.

well maybe if we would have done something the first time the world trade center got bombed we would have avoided 9/11, but Clinton didn't seem to think it was that big of a deal

I agree. The security is indeed for our own good.

However, the many innocent people that died in 9/11 should be alive today, sadly. God Bless their souls.

I am upset at how eagerly my fellow Americans feel they need to cede their liberties for perceived security.
