I've been a licensed cosmetologist for almost 20 years. I love L'Oreal products and have been using them for many years.

I wonder if this is the product they claim will give you highlights with just one color?

If it is, let me say this. No one color can give you 'highlights'. (If thats what this product has in it. I don't know as there are so many to keep up with on the market today:o) To get true highlights you have to have TWO colors that either contrast slightly or sharply.

This is the reason folks 'think' they're getting highlights from one color is because most of us have natural highlights anyway...whether you can visably see them or not. (Unless your hair is black or platinum blonde) Some of your hair will be either lighter or darker when you add color. The one color in the bottle processes the two differently. The lighter colors in your hair will stay somewhat lighter with the color you choose. The darker colors will naturally stay darker than the lighter. Make sense?

Its like having a conditioner and shampoo in one bottle. What this product really is, is a 'conditioning shampoo'. Nothing new about that! But they can advertise it anyway they like......as a conditioner and shampoo in one bottle.

See what I mean?

If you want true highlights, you've gotta have two separate colors.

Make sense?

Hope this helps!

If you want to color your hair, there is a good hair care and color ebook that explains 'how to' on this site:

yes ive used it on other people and its not bad you have to be careful as the highlighting part of the colour is actually bleach so you you really need to be careful but done patiently it comes out nice - i think its a good idea - maybe see if someone else ie a friend could help you apply it..

I personally didnt like it.
The colour was nice but the highlights were horrible!!
They were different coloured, and were really obvious. They were orange! Have tried twice, as my friend, and we will both never use this product again.
(and yes, it will be my inexperience that created that horrible highlights).
