Tulasi maala represents 54 alphabets of Devanagari.
Akshara is immortal because it creates sound.
The a*being the first alphabet and ksha* is the last one; sometimes the maala is called as *Aksha Maala*.
When the beeds are 108 it is considered as full rotation which symbolises the Vishwa* the Universe.
The 109th one is called Shikhara* which represents The God.
Now, when you start to chant the Japa* ; by thrikarana*( by speech-action-thought) you should engage yourself with the deity. Then only you can touch the 109th beed.
Otherwise you can not touch it. If you are not sure that you chanted in perfect way, you have to reverse the maala, without touching the Shikara*
Collectively; there are 108 steps to reach the God.
You have to concentrate your speech-action-thoughts upon Him.
Otherwise you have to come down to restart.
Try this- it is very very difficult

Tulasi mala is a rosary consisting of 54+1 or 108+1 beads, which are made from the cut stem of the Holy Basil plant. It is much valued by Hindus for chanting various chants, invocations, or mantras.
Holy Basil is considered dear to Krishna. Using such a rosary is supposed to add to the telling of the beads.
Shorn of all that, it is just a way to keep count of one's chants without taking the mind away from the chant. There is nothing very special about it.

It is not only an international language, but is also slowly and steadily replacing French as the most popular and wanted language of the Euro nations.
