"Do not do strenuous exercise, it can turn fat to muscle, and makes losing weight much more difficult."

I found this on the website: http://www.pcos-support.org/hints.htm

Is it true?

Fat can NEVER "turn into" muscle. No human tissue can turn from one type to another. Exercise CAN increase muscle mass and, therefore, weight. BUT if one also lessens caloric intake losing weight should not be a problem.

The article leaves out an important fact about muscle. It also has a few other problems but I won't go into that. Suffice it to say that muscle uses more calories than fat. So even when your body is at rest, you'll burn more calories. The scale may say you're a few pounds heavier, but your clothes will say you're smaller. Muscles weigh more but they take up less room, making you look smaller.

So if the scale is more important to you than your actual physical fitness, then don't do strenuous exercise. However, if you want to look in the mirror and like what you see, do the strenuous exercise.

Fat does not turn into muscle.

Fat cells exist in your body under the skin. When you gain weight, fat cells fill with fluids and get bigger. When you lose weight, the fat cells empty their fluids into the system so that your body can use the energy to exist and move around. Some of that energy may be used to build muscle, but fat cells do not turn into muscle.

Gaining muscle will make you gain weight -- but also having more muscle means your base or resting metabolic rate (the rate at which you burn calories) is higher, so you can burn more fat when you have more muscle.

Doing strenuous exercise raises your heart rate and that makes you burn more calories.

Whatever website you are reading is off base, unless what you want to do is lose fat without gaining muscle.

Actually, I just started a diet (for the first time in my life) and have heard this also. My plan is to get close to the weight I want and then start more strenuous exercise. I just asked this question to the nurse at work and she explained it like this.
No, fat does not turn into muscle. But muscles weigh more than fat, so if you are dieting, but also exercising, it may not seem like you are losing weight when in fact your fat is decreasing and your muscles are increasing.

First of all you can't turn fat into muscle neither can you do the opposite because they are two different components! What prevents you from loosing weight when you perform strenuous exercise is the fact that you overtrain which puts the body in a catabolic state. I've heard that phrase so many times and let me tell you it's bull****!If you wanna get your facts straight go to Bodybuilding.com

See, on your final 2 paragraphs you point out how Atheists/Agnostics are bitter in direction of the assumption of religion. nicely, whilst i replaced into merely getting used to residing without God, i could have executed something to have my faith returned. i in my opinion needed i ought to have merely lived in lack of know-how returned, yet that replaced into impossible. ultimately you will understand why some persons are bitter in direction of faith. you're dealing with a level of ask your self authentic now.
