From experience, mine did that with cheaper foods. I usually bought whatever I could afford, but since putting all of my cats on Eukanuba, no more vomiting. I usually get the Hairball formula too. Another good variety is for Sensitive Stomachs (or even to mix the two). If vomiting persists, your veterinarian needs to run a barium test. The cat will be given a liquid and then watched under x-ray to determine how far down the body it goes before they throw it up. This is usually expensive, and can be avoided by changing the food first.

Are your cats indoor or outdoor? They could just have upset stomachs. Try some cat grass, all pet stores should carry it. Have you changed anything in their diet? Maybe new cat food? There are still some cat foods that are questionable out there. They also might be eating it too fast so the other doesnt eat their share. I would try feeding them in different rooms just to see if that helps. Do you use can cat food too? Cats are not like people and do not like their food to be mixed around. They dont care about the pretty colors or sizes or shapes that have come out. They just want it to taste good. My cat used to throw up because she was older and loosing her teeth so she would eat her food whole. We had to give her canned food only, after that. Try some of these ideas. If they do not work after 4 or 5 days go to a vet. If your cats start to throw up blood or get diarrea go to the vet right away. Make sure they could not have gotten into any chemicals. good luck :-)

Several things come to mind:
1)Something is wrong with the food. Remember, there was a massive pet food recall lately. So you'll want to make sure you don't have one of the tainted foods.
2)Your cats could be having hairball problems- in which case nothing will stay down until the hairballs are gone.
3) There might be something else wrong with the cats. In which case, a veterinarian's intervention is needed. If this is it, don't wait to have your kitties checked.
Good luck!

Bad food or they're allergic to something in the food. Rule out food alergies first by taking them to the vet or switch to a different brand of cat food. Stay away from anything sold at supermarkets. Try California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova, Felidae, Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul, Wellness, Wyson, Life Abundance, Natural Balance, Eagle Pack, Nature's Variety Praire. They are much better for your cat.

you may be feeding them some kind of food that contains:
corn
wheat
soy
artificial preservatives
colours and dies
artificial flavours
milk
byproducts
---these are all causes for vomiting, upset stomach, and loose stools
my advice is to switch her food to something that has none of these that also has organic meat in it like duck (mmmmmhmmm) whole grains like quinoa ( research this stuff its amazing) and also naturally occuring digestive enzymes. if your cat is prone to hairballs the enzymes will help with that and also boost immunity, help absorb nutrition, firm up the stools, and so much more. i would suggest you look into eagle pack holistic select duck and oatmeal formula. www.eaglepack.com my cat used to have hairballs all the time and puke up the nasty food i was giving her. and ever since i went to college..i know better and this is the one brand i recomend for cats and so does everyone at the vet clinic i work for.
aslo you might want to get your cat checked for all worms. tis the season to trat if they have it or prevent if they dont.

Substandard pet food could be a possible cause. Also, if a cat has hairballs (from cleaning itself), the hair gets swallowed & this can cause a cat to cough & vommit. You might want to try a hairball remedy- you can get it at Wal-mart. You put a little on the cat's paw & he'll lick it & it helps dissolve hair balls.
Good luck!

Used to happen to my cats. You need to find cat food without ash. Usually the canned cat food has this.
Buy healthy cat food, it's more expensive but better for the cats.

Are your cats long hair, medium hair,or short hair? The long and medium haired cats are in the peak of their shedding and are barfing up their food with hairballs, if you can brush your cats then you should do this to help them get the shedding hair off of them, they should love you for this, and you need to get some hairball remedies from the pet store and it will get better.

If your cats are medium to long haired, it's usually caused by an accumulation of hair balls in their digestive tracts. Mine does the same thing - he is a long haired persian, but after I get him shaved for the summer heat, he stops barfing. You should check with the vet to make sure they're not ill. Also make sure you're not giving them one of the brands that has been re-called.

It happens to mine when he's eating too fast and chokes.... I've seen it happen and I'm sitting there going "eat slower silly!" it's not like he doesn't have 2 whole feeders full (for 2 cats)!
