You can have relations with people...even from a distance...this is a relation that although is not physical per se (you can't hug God) but it is not a distant relationship (nothing is closer than God). God is in your life and works with you and helps you...a relationship.

Funny. We can't go to the chapter 10 of the Srimad Bhagavatam if we had passed the chapter 7 first... Actually there is not question to which relation to God if we hadn't realized Brahma-bhuta and even after that , only in Ashakti we may be able to know our svarupa siddi, or rasa, nama, etc. And all this we can get only trough the mercy of an uttama guru... Lord Krishna is not an idol. BG 7.24: Unintelligent men, who do not know Me perfectly, think that I, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, was impersonal before and have now assumed this personality. Due to their small knowledge, they do not know My higher nature, which is imperishable and supreme. BG 7.25: I am never manifest to the foolish and unintelligent. For them I am covered by My internal potency, and therefore they do not know that I am unborn and infallible.

religion- man's attempt to reach God
relationship- God reaching down to man , through Christ.
What this relationship means to me is that we can really communicate with our heavenly Father, because when Jesus died on the cross- the veil was broken that separated man from God. Literally the veil of the temple in Jerusalem was riped from top to bottom when Jesus died that day. Before the crucifixion, only the high priest could enter that most holy place- now all we accept Christ as payment for sin, can enter the Throne room of God. Christ communicates with us, through the Bible and prayer, and in our daily lives. He does not physically walk with us, now, but through His Holy Spirit, I know He is as close as a friend- because He is my dearest friend. You will never truly know what I am talking about until you experience the forgiveness of sins, through Christ yourself. I hope this helps a bit though.

It means we have a personal relationship with God. We speak with Him as you would a trusted friend knowing that He always loves us and wants what is best for us.
When you give your life over to God and begin to get to know Him, you just can't help falling in love. And that my friend is a VERY personal relationship. God Bless

being religious means believing in religion. The next step is a relationship with God, by praying, obeying his laws and helping others.

Jesus wants believers to be His friend (John 15:15). Jesus lives in us, walks with us, talks with us and works through us. This a having a personal relationship with Him. The purpose of going to church is not to obey rules and traditions but to build up our personal relationship with God so that He can lead, guide and empower us in all we do.

there taught that god Love's them, and they love god, hence the relationship. they don't practice faith because they want to be saved. they do it for love. and salvation is just a side product of the Relationship. Most people talk about when they were "saved" which would best be described as an extreme feeling of euphoria

It means they feel very close and connected to him, like you would with your significant other.
I think. That's what I got from others. I wouldn't really know myself.
