My grandparents live in Halifax. Nova Scotia is so laid back and beautiful. I loved going to visit them when I was a kid. I still do. The seacoast is breathtaking. My favourite things to do is to drive the Cabot trail, on Cape Breton, it's unreal. And the beaches and lakes are great too. Halifax itself is a unique city. It's a great place to be. Nova Scotia is probably my most favourite place on earth.

I just got back from Quadra Island, an island off of Vancouver Island. It is absolutely beautiful there and the people are so friendly. Victoria and Vancouver were very clean and felt very safe. I would hit up the Vancouver area and Vancouver Island(s). You can take the BC Ferries to the different islands and explore them. There is tons of natural beauty and if you like to hike and explore, then this is your place. Even though I didn't get to Cortes Island, I heard that there are very nice sandy beaches. Quadra Island had beautiful beaches but they are kind of stony and there is a lot of driftwood that washes up from the lumber industry ashore. Victoria Island has lots of great shopping and if you like flowers and botanical, there's the Buchardt Gardens that is world renown.

My favorite places are in the Canadian Rockies......Banff Natl Park and the town of Banff......lots to do there....horseback riding, rafting, canoeing, hiking, fishing, great spas, incredible scenery, nearby Lake Louise and glaciers. If you need a taste of some city life, Calgary is nearby (less than 2 hours drive). The Calgary Stampede (largest rodeo in North America) takes place in Calgary in July and can also be alot of fun...buy your Chuck Wagon Races tickets now at their website.....a very fun event.
