many people consider love as meaning of live. However, how you will define love? sex, obssession, marriage, fun, emotions or something else? we all see how love come and go; how many lovers quarell and change their mind. also we see that in love 'everthing is permitted, like in war'.
so, do love has such purity, as high developed religion?
I consider some things even more important that love, like returning the care to your parents.
love, as seen in today's world, is changeable, full of positive and negative emotions and has connection with social position and fame and skills. so love become poluted in today's world.
pure love seems to be love to God that is religion. so for me religion is higher meaning of life that worshiping the lover.
the lover is just human. the lover is not God. therefore the lover is limited. we never know when such lover will condemn us if she is not satisfied or insulted.
God is never insulted and will never leave us. do you agree?

Love may be a beginning and an end, but it is not meaning.

I agree. We were put on this earth to worship God and to live by the ways He has laid down. This life is only temporary - a test. After we die the real life begins.

Love for others is only but a small part of this life. God is so much greater than our frail humanity could ever comprehend. We use the term love to describe what we have determined to be companionship, friendship, lust, joy, respect, etc. But God's "love" is incomprehensible. In islam Allah has 99 names. None of them say literally "love" but every single one describes the word we have defined as love.

God is the Greatest "love" there is. :)

I agree and parlty diasgree love is just only one of the things important i see the meaning of life is the meaning of exstince god put on this planet for a purpose such as career, hero, or whatevevr you can think of even though love can somtimes be painful or beatuiful. you are control of your own life not matter parents, peers and better yet peolpe of today.

I believe that life is what we make of it. There is no "meaning" or "purpose" we just evolved to the intelligent (and I use that term loosely) beings that we are by chance and survival of the fittest.

I, for one, am going to enjoy the limited time I have to be alive and not worry so much about where we come from or why we are here.

Love certainly gives my life meaning, I love my gay partner we've been together for many years now and I hope we spend the rest of our lives together.
Other things also give my life meaning, life itself means a lot to me, I don't take it for granted. too many of my ancestors had to survive all the pitfalls that could have knocked us all out of the running to be unappreciative.
I'm gay, my line ends here but I have siblings who will carry on the family line and they have already done so remarkably effectively I might add.

For for many people love is the meaning of life, but for many love is not attainable. Why is that? Because many people love vanity, so they will never love people for whsat they are. Some men or women will have five people that love them because they are beautiful, some ugly people will never love because they are ugly and people can not see them for thier insides. the world is f ucked up, because many are vain.

If you want it to be!

I don't think there's a universal meaning to life. Just make your own. That's just my thinking, so maybe I'm wrong :P

Myself, I hope to love, to write and to be happy. That's all I want out of life.
