Eat more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. You want to eat less calories than your body burns in a day - you can input your info and figure out your BMR at www.caloriesperhour.com.

You also might want to talk to your parents about it - they might need to buy better foods and encourage better eating habits.

You'll also need to exercise.

You're not going to lose enough to get you to normal weight in a month, but you can get a start by changing your habits. Don't tell yourself you're going to deprive yourself of everything you love, but try to start a healthy diet and exercise plan. Use the food pyramid as a guide--3 servings of milk or yogurt (8 oz. each), 4 servings of vegetables, 6-10 servings of whole grains (about a slice of bread, 3/4 cup of cereal, or 1/2 cup of rice), 6-8 oz. of meat, and only about 3 servings of fat (a tablespoon of salad dressing or a pat of butter). Start exercising--if you're a couch potato like me, start excercising about 15 minutes every other day, and work your way up. It won't come off all at once, but you'll lose about a pound a week, which is easier to keep off than those diets which promise 10 pounds in a week that you can't stand for more than 2 weeks.

You have an advantage, since you've got a change of scenery planned. It's your chance to start a new lifestyle, which will be easier if you're not in the same old surroundings. Once you come back, those new habits should be entrenched enough that you can keep them up here and keep losing.

How much do you hope to lose in one month's time? Don't tell me 30 or 40 pounds! If that is the case, you would be so sick and could hardly walk, how then can you get a tan in Europe? Weight loosing takes a long time and determination, one advice is do not simply take diet pills, you need to consult a doctor first!

I just posted this answer to another person. Use what you can, but get the doctor's or parent's permission.
-----------
I am using my own diet for over two years now -- it works.

My diet works this way: eat your standard three meals as you are accustomed to -- no over or under-eating. Have a cake or ice-cream at 2PM or 3PM.

The clincher is this: Supper is if at all possible at 4PM and no later than 6PM. Unsweetened black coffee keeps the hunger pains away during the evening. (if really helps, but I would want to ask a doctor if a 12 year old may drink several cups of coffee!)

No food after supper. Once a week perhaps have a later than usual meal at a restaurant. But you will find that after a while on this diet such becomes undesired experiences because the stomach shrinks.
---------------
Every day I walk at least 8000 steps except on Saturdays -- too busy!

OK i had the same problem when i was 6th,7th grade people always mad fun of me of being shy, fat, and i wouldn't stand up for my self. so at the end of 7th grade i started to workout, i run 3 times a week, bike 1-2 times a week, walk 2 times a week. so i burn calories.
but i learned that only doing that stuff does get old so i work out at my house doing varies exercises. i eat healthy, salads, fruit, vegetables, i don't drink soda, i go on a water diet which only thing i drink is water which does make me lose weight, and all this stuff works, and i love it.
here is a web site which i got all my workouts from and tips and they are easy to fallow, hope u like it

First of all, I think you need to gain some self-confidence. Don't be so hard on yourself, because your weight is not what fully defines who you are as a person. Loving yourself and being confident about who you are will make you even more beautiful.

Now, some tips on healthfully losing the weight:
-Cut out all caloric beverages, such as soda, juices, and sport's drinks. Drink water instead, or try mineral water- it has the fizz that soda has without the calories.
- Eat more fruits and veggies (the ones you like!) They fill you up on very little and keep you energized.
-Cut down on portion size.
-Eat small snacks in between meals so that you wont feel too hungry or deprived, which could result in a binge. A good snack would be an apple with a little bit of peanut butter.
-Choose lean meats, like chicken breast, turkey breast, and fish. Try to avoid higher-calorie beef and pork.
- Cut out junk food. Junk food tends to stimulate your cravings. Instead, eat a small peice of chocolate or have a lolipop to get rid of any cravings.
-Keep yourself busy. Boredom usually leads to eating.
-Eat broth-based soups. They fill you up on little.
-Eat a salad before lunch or dinner. It will fill you up, so you will eat less of your meal.
- Eat BALANCED meals, because a combination of carbs, proteins, and fats yields the greatest satisfaction. Ex: Grilled chicken, side of brown rice, and grilled veggies cooked in olive oil.

Say goodbye to following: soda, chips, candy, chocolate, cookies/cakes.

Say hello to the following: fruits, veggies, LOTS OF WATER.

jog for 1/2 an hour and the next week jog for 40 minutes. Add 10 minutes each week.

If you give up soda and drink a lot of water instead you will lose 5 pounds guaranteed!

I'm over weight, and what is really helping me not gain, and getting rid of some weight is drinking more water (specialy if your going to be out on the sun) eating fruit salads, more vegetables less food, no junk food at all, and playing more basketball.
