As long as you don't swallow the toothpaste, you should be fine. And a few small drinks of water should be OK.

NO, the reason you can not eat prior to removal of the wisdom teeth is due to the fact that you will be sedated. Some people vomit while sedated if the stomach is full. Therefore, Oral Surgeons recommend to refrain from eating, (not brushing), 12 hrs prior to surgery.

were told not to eat before surgery? I don't understand but, no brushing is not the same as eating. It is recommended

if you mean by the saliva or toothpaste going down your throat..no, it won't. plus the relaxing meds they give you pre-op won't harm you, nor the water to take the meds

just make sure you talk to them pre-op about your jaw..

mine stayed open sooo long during surgery and stayed shut sooo long after.. that it took 2-3 weeks for my jaw to unstiffen

its 2 completely different things.are you going to be asleep when they do it?check and see cause not all dentist sedate you.i wasnt and it really was easier than havings ome of my other teeth removed.
