Thats dumb. Its like blaming a gun manufacturer for someone who shoots themselves. You ever heard of personal responsibility?

Then there are those individuals who smoke till they day they die in the 90s or 100s.
Cigarettes are a personal choice no one holds a gun to the head of the smoker and forces them to smoke laughing maniacally while they are killing the smoker.
I'm not sure why this is in R&S. It maybe should be in pointless causes?
Try educating people on the harmful effects of smoking rather than going after the cigarette companies. If people don't buy them they won't make them.
Even if cigarettes were outlawed you wouldn't stop people from smoking or the growing of tabbaco. Just like any other drug it would simply become one more way for the criminals to fleece people. At least with the cigarette companys there are regulations they have to follow.

Well, there is a difference in the method and motive of killing, but did you know that the major cigarette companies were successfully sued for their refusing to acknowledge the cancer-causing statistics about tobacco? It's true. Millions and millions of dollars were involved.
But I don't agree that tobacco should be more illegal than it is (that is, age restricted), any more than I believe marijuana should be illegal. People have a right to do what they want with their own bodies.
Given that the public now has ample information concerning the dangers of tobacco smoke, I can only say if an adult wants to take that risk, they should have the right. It is reasonable, I think, to limit that right to adults. Perhaps even raise the age limit, given recent data on how long it takes the human brain to fully mature.

When cigarette was introduced to the society, these company were not aware of the side effect. Now they know and they are fairly doing their job ( well not so good , money still important ).
However, I am surprise that you claimed cigarette caused more deaths than most war may not be accurate.
Alcohol should be the highest in my opinion.

corporations kill far more people each year then are killed by individuals - but the corps and those that run them are the new aristocracy - well really just a slightly new form of the old aristocracy since it has always been based on wealth - so they get away with it.

You don't appear to have thought this through very well!
By analogy, companies that manufacture knives, guns, explosives and the like are guilty of muder?
I don't think so. If you choose to smoke and it kills you, so be it, that's your choice. Of course smoking is bad for your health, but we all have the choice.

Sorry dude, or dudet, The only one that shoved a cigarette in my mouth was me. Stop blaming the world for our poor choices. We choose to smoke we die. We eat to much we die. We choose to drive stupid we die. We choose to pick up a gun people die including us. We need to take responsibility for our bad decisions.

Smokers chose to shorten their life, cigarette companies merely make that option more available.
People arent forced or tricked into smoking, they have all the info and chose to do it.
