I really have to say that some people answered this question entirely too rudely. Why on earth is 22 the right age to have a child? I mean seriously, 22 does not make you any more financhially stable, it does not make you more mature, and it does not make you a batter parent. I know pleanty of 16 year olds that are more mature then some 22 year olds I know. There are pleanty of good parents out there that had their child before they were 22. And why on earth do people start preaching about marriage. Not that I am against marriage, because I am not, I am all for it, but getting married because you have a baby is getting married for the wrong reason. and you cannot guarentee that a marriage is a safer place for a child to be raised in. Life happens and pregnancy happens. People do not come on here asking to have your views on premarital sex shoved down their throats, they want honest non judgemental answers and I do not understand why people cannot just give they that. They are worried and scared and this is an anomious way to get support. If someone wanted to get preached at, they would go to a church.
Marriage is good for children, yes there is a lot of good things that come out of a child being raised in a LOVING marriage. But what about those marriages that are riddled with domestic violence, wouldn't it be better for the child not to see one parent beat the crap out of the other. And many states do not allow same sex marriages but children can be raised in the same nurturing environment as they would in a happy different sex marriage. And not everyone who is single is living off the government. Not everyone who is married is not not living off the government. And it really does not matter at what age you have a child, you may or may not need some government assistance, as long as you get back on your feet, why should it matter if our tax dollars have to help for a little while. The people we should be angry at for living off our taxes is those people who abuse the system and live off the government indeffinatly. Welfare and TANF and other such programs are supposed to be a temporary fix for those people who need to get back on their feet. People are supposed to be looking for work and moving past needing the governments help. If someone chooses not to use the programs for what they are designed for, that is when we should get angry. You may get mad about wasteing tax dollars on someone who has hit a rough patch due to pregnancy or some other circumstance, but you will whine when the time comes that you hit a rough patch and need help and there isn't any because you lobbied against it.

I would suggest a blood test. Your doctor, or even your local hospital can administer one, and it's more accurate than a home pregnancy test, and can calculate exactly how far along she is (if she is pregnant) by the amount of protein levels in her system due to pregnancy. If she's indeed 8 days late, it could be stress and anxiety that's stopping her period, or she could indeed be pregnant. Go get a test - it'll stop all of the worries about whether or not she is, and you'll both know what you're dealing with.
Remember to use protection every time! Trust me!

Well stacie got up on the wrong side of the bed that day didnt she? try not to take it personally as although you did ask a question, whats done is done, and theres no point her swearing that aint gonna change anything... (I do have to wonder why 22 is the *MAGICAL* age?? lol.

ANY HOOO.... as for your predictament.. 8 days late is quite a few, even if she had a long cycle.. I agree with the other nice posters, youll have to go in wiht her and get a blood test done to know once and for all.

Goodluck

I had 3 negative results the week I thought I was supposed to start my period. One week exactly after that day, I got my positive. I would wait a few more days and test again or get a blood test to be sure.

when i was 8 days "DUE" (late) i took the test and it was positive but sometimes it takes a little longer to tell but if it goes on any longer then the next couple of days take her to the doctor it might be an eptopic pregnancy (VERY DANGEROUS) SO DON'T WAIT TO LONG but it sounds like we should congratulae you on becoming a new daddy

Just wait it out a few more days before you start worrying or wasting more money on pregnancy tests.

take her to get a blood test. Most likely she's not pregnant if she took 2 test and it came out negative.

You had unprotected sex? Sure she could be. Wait till period is due, and do another test. You may have tested too early.

Do you want her to be pregnant? Are you guys committed to each other and over the age of at least 22? Then I hope you get the positive you desire!

If not, you're f***ing idiots and need to grow up and learn responsibility and not bring another child into the world that my taxes will have to go to paying for. Wrap it up, dude.

Tie it in a knot. You just missed a bullet. Take your good luck as a wake up call and keep it in your knickers.

If you can't be good be careful.
