Try bland diet. No dog food, no scraps, no treats. Boil hamburger in water - when it's done, take meat out of water (but reserve the water) then... cook rice in that same water (minute rice is just fine) - it will absorb nutrients from meat that cooked out. Drain rice, then mix up with the cooked hamburger. Feed only this and water to your baby for several days. Works like a charm. Also can do the same with chicken, but a little more work! You can boil a whole chicken and pick it off the bone, or boil just some boneless breasts/thighs.

Our dog had this a month or so ago. Ours turned out to be Giardia but the vet told us if our dog has the runs to with hold food for 24 hours and then feed a diet of boiled rice and chicken for a few days. After it firms up to ease back into the regular diet.

We also have a friend who is a dog breeder and anytime one of her dogs have the runs she uses a little canned pumpkin and she swears it firms them right up.

I think what you're doing is good -- keep her hydrated, take away her food, and keep the vet appt. If your vet appointment is more than a day away, try feeding wet food - it may help your dog's hydration.

Give it lots of water and try some white rice... that always helps my dog. Make sure to go to the vet.

Offer water only until you can get her to the vet.

I'd hold her food and get her to the vets.

Vet immediately, is she vaccinated, as this can be a symptom of parvo?
