I paid a bit under $5000 for my surgery. This was for both eyes. I now see 20/20 (better than I was ever able to with contacts or glasses) and consider the money spent wisely!

Lasik can cost anywhere from 750 to 2000 an eye. I would highly suggest doing research before getting Lasik surgery though. Im not saying you shouldnt do it but its important to know all the information and risks associated with eye surgery. I would check a website like Wikipedia for good info.

Wikipedia is only a bad place to get information if you dont check to see if references were listed from a reliable source.

The price is going to vary a bit from region to region, but from my research I found that from reputable refractive eye surgeons the cost ranged from $1200-$2000 per eye.
My husband had LASIK just a few weeks ago and it was in the ballpark of $2900 total with our vision discount plan.
I am having PRK later this week and my total cost with our vision plan is $3400. Another quote I had gotten was $4200 for both eyes and the third was $3600. The latter two is without our vision discount plan...they would not accept it.
Please do research not only the procedure themselves, but also do a thorough background search on your potential eye surgeon...a good to look would be American Association of Ophthalmology. Our refractive surgeon actually got his start as a cornea specialist, had wonderful educational training/residency/fellowship, he also still teaches corneal subjects at a medical school, and does corneal transplants as well. Very very specialized. Also check with your optometrist and see who they would recommend.

Dont go to the cheap places advertising low prices. Quality doctors charge 4,000 to 6,000. Mine was almost 6,000. I had bladeless custom lasiks (bladeless is best and many places dont do bladeless cause it is so new. You want to go to a place that offers bladeless cause that means they are up to date doctors).
I went to TLC laser eye center (all over the US).
Tiger woods went to one.
The fee covers several post surgery check ups (1 day after, 1 week after, 3 months, 6months, 1 year). And at TLC if my eyes ever regress to where I need glasses again as I get older, I can get it re done for FREE by TLC since they did my surgery.
Remember you want quality not cheap prices.

Lasik eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and lasik surgery in India by a company called Forerunners Healthcare. The Price for dental and lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.
Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

I had it done last year for $2738.00 That included a life time guarantee for future procedures as my prescription changes.
I opted for mono-vision; one eye for distance, the other for close up because I had astigmatism and was near sighted. If you are corrected for distance in both eyes you would need reading glasses.
The trips to and from the lasik center and the procedure are tax deductible.

Depends on the doctor and where you live. 2000-4000 grand and eye. Doctors will offer a free consult and some will let you pay it off over time with no interest. If you have a flexible spending account at work, that is the best way to go.

About $500 per eye for an average doctor with common equipment. A top eye surgeon using the latest technique will run closer to $1500 per eye.

P.S Wikipedia is a bad source to get your info from. use google and see what you come up with, if the site is sponsored by a .gov, .edu or something of the like then the info on those site are more reliable then wikipedia.
