Actually, many Kingdom Halls do have windows. It just depends on whether or not the congregation wanted windows or not. There are good reasons for not having windows. 1. It's cheaper to build without windows. Since Jehovah's Witnesses never charge for their literature, the only income Jehovah's Witnesses as an organization has is voluntary contributions. All members of the congregation pay for their Kingdom Halls out of their own pockets. Some poorer congregations try to keep the expenses of building a Kingdom Hall as low as possible. Also, insurance rates for the building will be a little lower if there are no windows. Having no windows also prevent vandals from breaking in. 2. Having windows would also be a distraction to those listening to the program. Jehovah's Witnesses are very studious people when it comes to the Bible. Also, Kingdom Halls are usually built by a main road so that they are easily accessible. This means there is a lot of traffic and hustle-and-bustle near Kingdom Halls. So, in a nutshell, the main reason many Kingdom Halls do not have windows is because windows are not necessary. Some congregations with a little more money may have windows installed just for appearance purposes. Their religious gatherings are by no means secretive. The public has always been welcome to attend their meetings, and many millions of non-Jehovah's Witnesses attend meetings at their local Kingdom Hall each year.

I don't think they have anything to hide. It has more to do with vandalism. I am a Witness of Jesus, not a Jehovah's witness. Inspite of this, I do know that it seems that JW's are a target of vandalism more frequently than some Christian churches.

In my town they have a lot of. By the way I am in the Caribbean and we dont have air conditioner so we use more windows, than in USA, but in Nigeria are similar than my country.
By the way in Dominican Republic we are building one Kingdom Hall every single 20 days, we are a poor country but we go from around all congregations to help in the construction I learnt how to work with masonry and welding and a lot of girls also learn how to put tiles in floors.

You know you're a gamer when:
Every time you see a Kingdom Hall, you think Kingdom Hearts, and attempt to infiltrate the building with a Keyblade.

I used to be a JW and when I was, the building committee from Bethel, NY said it was because of safety. Break-ins and vandalism is on the rise, so no windows in the church means it's harder to break into. I agree though, it seems odd. My mother told me they have actually broken down their bible study groups into personal homes to keep them safe. I think they are a little paranoid, but hey, to each his own.

No, their activities and lousy doctrine are completely and fully known. No need to draw anything more dark and sinister into them than already is.
Very likely the few buildings that are windowless are that way now because they got tired of unthinking people who threw rocks through them--- tiring therefore of the expense and time involved in replacing them.

No, not really. Windows are distracting, so they prefer having Kingdom Halls with no windows. But is open to the public, so if you don't take my word for it, you can always walk into their services, they'll welcome you with arms wide open.
