People still fail to realize that the original "religion" if you want to call it that was Paganism. It was more than a religion, it was just a way of life. And before anyone goes off about Pagans being devil worshipers, they are not. The devil and hell was created by Christianity. Do some research outside of the bible and you may be surprised at how all secular religions started. Being Pagan was mostly based on respect and balance for nature and all that is around us and the belief in many gods, not just one. Constantine brought Christianity to the Greeks and Romans, those that didn't accept it were forced to.

The religion of the bible essentially begins when God makes a deal with Abram (later Abraham). He is the first Jew.
RE: Jesus' travels
Read the first chapter of the gospel of John and the first chapter of Colossians.
He existed before ALL of creation and did not need to learn astral travel from someone else. Even the scant recorded history of Jesus' youth testifies that ---even as a very young boy--- his wisdom was a marvel to the "masters" of his era.

Before Christianity there were many other religions. Primarily, of course, was Judaism. But there was the Greek and Roman religions with their cast of gods. Also, about the time that the Jesus cult started, there were many other so-called mystic cults, such as Mithraism, which Christianity borrowed from. We don't have much information about those religions because Christians burned most of it the first chance they got. There are also religions in other parts of the world, such as in the Orient.

Jesus was the Son of God, not just a prophet or a messanger. God is the source, our creator. The Father produces a 2nd person, the Son. Jesus is the Word, the perfect expression of the Father. The Holy Spirit is produced by the love of the Father and Son for one another. The Holy Spirit is Love. Spirit is taken from a word that means breath or sigh, a universal sign of life and love. The Holy Spirit is a gift, the love, of the Father and Son to us. He comes from Christ into us and unites us to Christ and the Father. Everything comes to us, from the Father, through the Son and we receive it by means of the Holy Spirit within us.

Before Christianity began it's conquest of the religions of the world there was the Hebrew faith and the countless Pagan faiths. Funny, you don't really hear of any "holy wars" from that time, there were wars but those were based off of political conquest.

Before Christianity, Sanathana Dharma was practiced in Barath Varsha which contains almost all continents of the present day world. Jesus was wandering in Asia and was undergoing studies in tibetian monostaries and his name is registered as 'Isa" in their records.
