I have an appointment with my surgeon for next week Saturday (first appointment available) but I think that I might need help before then. I have a hernia that I believe to be incarcerated. I have had overwhelming nausea several days ago that subsided along with constipation for the past week. This morning I woke up again with the severe nausea. I was just wondering if anyone knew how much a visit to the hospital would cost me and if also if possible anyone knows how much emergency surgery would cost.

I'm insured.

It depends on which hospital that you visit, but a general hospital ER visit can range from about $200-$500. Emergency surgery can vary depending on what you have done in the surgery, I'm sure that surgery could be from $1000 and on up. I know that my last four planned surgeries have been about $60,000 because they were major spine surgery to implant a Spinal Cord Stimulator. Depending on how much coverage you have and your insurance the hospital visit, and surgery can vary in cost of how much you pay. I know that one of the minor surgeries I had about a year and a half ago cost about $1,000 after the insurance paid their cost, but it was a planned surgery so emergency surgery could cost more.

It depends on you insurance. I had surgery a few years ago and think I had to pay altogether around 1800$ after er visit, ultrasound, surgeon, anesthesia, etc etc. I didn't have to pay all at once (the bills trickled in one by one) and with the larger 2 bills I was able to set up a payment plan.

It would depend on which hospital you are going to go to as well as where the dr doing the surgery has privileges at.

Each hospital charges differently when it comes to fees.
