Should I gradually dye it so it won't go red? The last time I coloured my hair was a few months ago, and I dyed it 7 days in a row. *my hair fell out!* Its now healthy and short, so how can I go about it. Its naturally pure black, btw.

You will have to bleach it first - and use toner to strip your hair of color. I'm asian too and you already know we have the tendency to go carrot top when we bleach, so toning is necessary to get a nice brown color. I would go to a salon and get it done professionally. Toying around with home kits are risky - especially if you're going lighter.
