I have 3 queries -
(a) In Internet Explorer, just typing the site name in the Address Bar is enough but sometimes, we have to compulsorily prefix WWW. Why?
(b) I saw an e-mail with From and To (i.e. sender and receiver) fields having the same name in my friend's pc. To (receiver) should have my friend's email address. How it is possible that Sender and Receiver are the same but it is received by another Receiver.
(c) Our Office is having internet under LAN. In a recent survey, it was observed that some users were logging anonymously (i.e. without using their authorised User ID). I am perplex as to how one can log anonymously under LAN environment where a strict watch is observed. Pl. help.

this is really unfair....you should have posted 3 separate questions...so we could get 6 points for the 3 answers. :P

(a) some sites make it compulsory....but that was like the old norm....most modern day sites work without the 'www'. it's got nothing to do with your end....what browser you use.

(b) maybe the address that receives the mail is set to auto-forward the mails it gets to another address

(c) i'm with the anonymous users and against the Big Brother.

1. most of the .com sites open with just typing site name. for the rest, you have to type full address
2. its because your friend wants to BCC all, he just put his name in to filed. (earlier days, it used to be that you cant send a mail where TO field is blank. today, most mail applications allow mail sendinging even if there is blank "TO" field
3. Can bypass the proxy server in LAN..
