If you read Luke 3:38, you find that it was taken literally and that not only does it have to be, but that if it isn't Christ's ransom becomes void and defunct.

See the ransom link here:

You may also want to read the Creation page, to see that evolutionist do not have anything the Bible doesn't -- rather, it is the reverse.

The Adam and Eve story is a biological impossibility.

If the human race started with just two people then it would be biologically impossible to create the genetic variation we see in todays humans.

Furthermore, every human contains at least two masked flaws or mutations in their genes which, when combined with identical flaws in their children would cause them to be unmasked. This would cause death before or shortly after birth in any child so afflicted; lesser mutations would result in deformity or disability. This is the basis of why incest is not permitted in even the most primitive of societies. If such incest had taken place between the descendants of Adam and Eve then the Human Race would have become extinct after just a few generations.

some take it as literal, some as figurative.

i have a friend who believe that it's figurative and that "adam and eve" are merely reprentations of the first group of men and women that evolved. she thinks they were probably cavemen.

i have another friend who views it as a fable. as in adam and eve are meant to be representative of all of mankind and that the tree and the apple are merely representations of sin itself.

and i know people who take it literally--that adam and eve really were the first man and woman, that there was tree, etc.

It is a true story. Not being able to prove it with our modern science doesn't mean it didn't happen, for example, 200 years ago people considered flying scientifcly impossible, but now it's a daily life thing.
