Tattoo idea?

What do you guys think about this idea for a possible tattoo .(it is something that i am going to wait awhile to get because i am suffering the first tattoo addiction phase lol). My thought was that i would have the virgin mary but her face would be pale and she would be crying tears of blood. ALso besdies her normal atire she would be wearing a purple/ black hood like the grim reapers. Mary would then be posed like the lady of justice statue with the justice scales in the right hand and a sword in the left hand. At her feet would be a pile of skulls. if i get this which i am going to wait awhile to do. For me this would represent how when people get carried away with religion and believing that there views are just which leads to mass carnage

You could try adding a religious quote in a banner for a subtle effect. Something that conveys the meaning without being overbearing. Or maybe replacing the scales with a rosary... Something symbolic of the whole idea. I think it could work with a little tweaking.

sounds like you have thought a lot about it. It also sounds as though you are going to wait and be sure this is something you want. I think tattoos that are symbolic to the person or have meaning are the best... not just the average tattoo parlor tatt.... good job and good luck. I actually have a grim reaper tattoo with a rose in his mouth... grim reaper does not always signify bad things, death etc. it reminds me where I have been - what I have been through. the rose sybolizes new beginings.

Something with meaning huh? Well how can a load of strangers give you ideas that are meaningful to you? Only you can decide what is meaningful, to some people their butterfly tattoos are deeply meaningful, it's just not your taste, that's all. Sorry but this is something you have to research and decide for yourself.

Once sketched, it becomes obscure as to the identity of "the Virgin Mary". One would not perceive Virgin Mary...in a purple/black hood nor would one perceive the religious association with Lady Justice. It would probably look like Lady Justice...kills; Lady Justice...heads will roll; Lady Justice...death penalty advocate.

You, of course, will know your vision and it's symbolic significance; however, I do not believe that many other casual observers would interpret the artistry the way you intend. I would draw it; show it to others and ask them to tell you what they "get from it"...before having it permanently affixed.

Speaking of biblical significance...just thought you may enjoy the following KJV:

i say if the tattoo symbolizes something meaningful to u, then go for it. i just a tattoo on my lower back that was completly my idea. i got tribals with wedding bands in the middle. in the wedding bands it says true love. above the tribals and wedding bands i got my husband's name. i also have Good Luck Care Bear on my left shoulder blade and my daughter's name under it to symbolize her b-day, which is st. patty's day :D so i say, as long as its something that is meaningful to u...then dont worry what anyone else thinks :D go for it

Sounds OK. Don't show it to any priests unless they ask to see it. Noting's worse than a PO'd priest.
My idea for a tatoo: people not to let drive my car.
