Legals have to meet all the requirements that you listed, and it takes a lot of years to process an application ( I waited about 9 years)
Illegals: they just come to the U.S., they don't have to worry about learning English because they can always press 2 (or 1) for Spanish, they get free medical and other social services that most of us legal and employed can't get. AND once they are here the government gives them amnesty as a reward for breaking all the laws.

Oooh! Ooh! I know!!
It's the illegals!... Oh wait, no that's not right. Illegal aliens sneak across the border (or get here by false pretenses then overstay their visas), so there can't be a background check... And that lets in countless criminals--often violent, and some even wanted in their own country for crimes committed there. Ohhh... and that pesky background check might recognize the fact that they're undereducated and in poor health, and are just looking for a free ride on the American tax dollar.
But hey, once they get here they assimilate, right? No, wait, that's not right either... The majority of them congregate in enclaves made to look like their own hometowns (complete with rejecting outsiders). And they make NO effort to learn our customs, let alone speak or read English--instead, they insist that our signage and packaging and ballots be made available in their languages.
LEGAL immigrants, on the other hand, deserve our utmost respect, heartfelt gratitude, and welcoming arms. They follow our established laws for becoming citizens of this country, including the time-consuming background checks and everything those entail. They learn about our customs, strive to learn English, enjoy working and contributing to our society as a whole. Oh yes, and I amost forgot--they actually WANT to be AMERICANS.
THIS American proudly welcomes LEGAL immigrants from all over the world.
But ILLEGAL ALIENS need to go home and do it right by following our laws, or stay out! Say NO to AMNESTY!

It used to be before a person could become a legal citizen of the United States of America they had to speak English, show they already had a job lined up and could support themselves, and swear allegiance to the American Government and abandon the Government that they had just left.
These people became a very important part of American heritage and made us what we are today.
It was the legal migration that made us strong and not the other way around as some people claim.
My husband has a friend who was just granted legal citizenship a few months ago and never have we seen a happier person in all our life.
And you know what?
He likes it here more than he did in Morocco!
And he has a job and supports himself and doesn't want anything from our Government instead he wants to give to them what he can! He's honest and very hardworking and is a Muslim on top of it!He has never been disrespectful to my husband at work or outside of work. And when my husband was physically ill one day at work and everyone was laughing at him because of it his friend one of the only ones who sought legal citizenship stood out from the rest and helped my husband who was violently ill from bad vending machine food.
That is the difference between legal and illegal.

I'm generalizing but .... Legals obey the laws, follow the rules, pay taxes, see their doctor instead of going to the ER for a cold, know the importance of an education, take responsibility for their actions, speak English, work hard, etc...
The illegal alien criminals, they don't .......

Actually, I know plenty of illegals that are less of a burden on the taxpayers than many of our citizens. Unfortunately, they are still criminals. Maybe we should start deporting people that are on their 10th year of welfare. =0)

If the answer is yes to all but your 1st question, then there's a good possibility they are legal. Notice I said "possibility", because there are always exceptions.
