I'm not really too much of an emotional person, but it really saddens me to hear the false things that people r saying about Islam. like Islam women cant have jobs, let alone been given the right to vote 1,400 years ago!! as well as many other misconceptions, like if your not Muslim, its halal for us to kill you?!?!?!? wtf? these ideas they come up with are crazier than crazy, they're simply barbaric..

I don't think it's a misconception that Muslims are way, way, way too religious. I don't think any culture has the right to fill a human being's every waking thought with prayers, doctrine and rituals so that they never have an opportunity to know things outside their strict, oppressive set of rules that must be follow on threat of death!
My parents were Christian but they allowed my sisters and I to explore our faith as a private and personal thing. I have felt so free my whole life to learn about all religions and philosophies and science so that, in raising my daughter, I was able to teach her to be a free-thinker too. Today she is an excellent student, a helper of the less fortunate, a good friend and a moral, upstanding citizen.
She did all this without Islam or Christianity. She doesn't fear God or death. She reveres life and is tolerant of all races. She's a good-hearted girl who goes out to the country to visit the lake and walk the hills and revel in the wonder of all the beauty around her.
She is good, and she isn't saturated in Holy books and prayers-by-rote and worrying what others will think of her. I feel sad that Muslims spend nearly every waking minute controlled by thoughts that others have put in their heads.

yeah, that's right. some people wants to make false public opinion about Islam. the biggest mistake is people don't differ which is Islam and Islam follower. Islam is a peaceful religion, but not all of the Islam follower are fully did what Islam taught. just like another religion follower, there will be good and bad people, no matter their religion is.

The only shame Islam is developing is that it isnt making an effort to stop the radical fundementalists of Islam, and the politicalization of religion.
The Islamic world needs to realise that education does not mean learning the Quran. Education needs to be about learning skills of intelligence, empathy, and innovation for today's world, not an age well and truely gone past.

Some people just watch the news, which is not a reliable source of information, but others have simply read the Qur'an. If you've read the Qu'ran, the inherent violence of Islam should be self-evident.
