I looked up the word Easter in the Nelson Bible dictionary and learned that the word "Easter" (as mentioned in Acts 12:4) is a mistranslation of "pascha," the ordinary Greek word for "Passover." As, you know Passover is a Jewish celebration not a Christian holiday. I think human hands, all to human, had played havoc with the Bible.
From the brief points mentioned above, and the fact that Biblical scholars themselves have recognized the human nature and human composition of the Bible (Curt Kuhl, The Old Testament: Its Origin and Composition, PP 47, 51, 52), there should exist in the Christian’s mind some acceptance to the fact that maybe every word of the Bible is not God’s word.

meh, we Ukrainians just called it "the Big Day"
go figure. (of course, the WAY we say it is just as important, kind of that feeling you have when you're a kid and you get to jump up and down on the neighbor's trampoline)

I am not sure what you mean by "forcibly baptized by Christians". Christ was a Jew. Originally, Christians were Jews that believed in Christ as the Messiah. Why wouldn't they still keep passover. Passover is celebrated in todays Christan faith.

What shouldn't be celebrated is Christmas. I realize most take it to be Christs birth date but almost any scholar will tell you Christ was likely born in late September. Called Feast of the Tabernacles. Christmas came many years after Christs resurrection and it was the Church's doing. The idea was to get Pagans to stop their pagan rituals. Namely Winter Solstice. So they conveniently made a Christian Holiday around the same time to win over the Pagans.

Translation from one language to another is difficult at best. The reason Easter is used is because it is celebrated at the time of passover. To understand the Bible one needs to read it and study it like any other book designed to teach us something. Just because it needs to be studied does not remove God's inspiration from it. Perhaps one should stop trying so hard to discredit something without learning more about what it actually says.

Jesus was sacrificed at passover he was the lamb of God that is why Christians remember it at the time of the Jewish passover. we celebrate the passover but know it is now for filled by Jesus we do not need to make any more sacrifices if we accept his blood to cover our sin.
