I took an interior design class several years ago and remember the instructor telling us that Pink is the color we should use in bathrooms because when applying makeup it is the most complimentary to our skin tones. I remember this because I thought eww. I say who cares? Just do what you like you will be much happier. I do remember also that putting the lights beside the mirror instead of above them also is supposed to also show what you really look like. Also stay away from any flourescent lighting it is way too harsh. Personally I like earthy tones in a bathroom. Stone tiles and granite countertops will never go out of style.

It depends on your bathroom and your taste. If your bathroom is pokey and small, go for pale colours like whites (maybe not white-white, but off whites, antique, etc. Alot of the paint websites have whole charts dedicated to this colour). Our bathroom was dark and dingey. We liked natural colours, so we painted the walls an off white called "hogs bristle", put large white tiles on the walls (the bigger the tile, the bigger it'll make your room look ie less grout lines), and had pale beige floor tiles (big again). It now looks HUGE. Other bathroom choices people go for at the moment are dark grey and white; browns, beiges, creams and terrracotta; and aqua, blue and white combinations. Just try and find a colour that doesn't look cheap and will stand the test of time. I find neutrals to be quite classic, and they are very versatile too, so that you only need to change a few things to update it if you want to. In the link below, you can do your own colour profile and in 'mycolour' you can select a virtual bathroom and choose colours for it. Have fun.

I think colors like yellow, white or other bright colors look best in the bathroom. But it just depends on what you like. My husband and I just textured our bathroom and painted it Antique yellow. It looks awesome and really brightens up the room. It looks a lot bigger too!! I didn't think I would like it at first but I do now that it is completed. We have green rugs, towels, etc. so the green and yellow really go together. I am also going to get some flower arrangements that have both yellow and green in them to accent it more. It will look so good once it is done.
One thing you have to remember is that a bright bathroom is always best!

I have one that is "Leaf" green (very light) with light grey trim, and a white ceiling. The floor has different shades of grey with flakes of turquoise, so I went with turquoise accessories and half turquoise and half green towels etc. Looks really good.
The other one is lavender/stippled w/antique white to soften the color and give it a textured wallpaper look on part of the walls. The other walls are paneling painted with antique white. All trim is antique white and a white ceiling. I've got white towels and rugs with soft colored yellow, pink and coral flowers and and a combination of the colors in accessories. Looks really old-fashioned. I love it.
My daughter just did the boys bathroom in a chocolate brown rag rolled with antique white with antique white wainscoting and trim. It looks great and a nice kind of masculine color for boys instead of just blue or green.

Depending on size, usually big areas can be painted with darker colours. Small areas should be painted white or offwhite,or a pastel colour. Contrasts and accent colours such as towels, plants, lights, mats, can be bright and much easier to change around.

any color...
it really depends on u'r tastes & likes of colors. I could say navy & tan but u may not like navy.
Find something that u like in shower curtain or curtain area then go from there to pull out u'r wall colors & accents for the bathrm.

blue. it's the color of water so it fits in really well.
i would discourage the use of dark colors like maroon beacuse when water dries on such a color, it leaves white spots that look...icky.

Personally, I like a light colour so that I can see when it's dirty & have it cleaned.
