two surgeries in the last year.. one for cervical cancer, the other for endometreosis. could the few years of antidepressants be a cause? i've finally tapered off of them, but wondering if any of these could be a cause?

i love loveline and am too shy to call.

and no, sex isn't "running my life" though i'm not sure if that is what you meant to say. it's not a huge deal, but i love my boyfriend of two years and would love for him to not feel as though it's his fault.

Well I doubt that antidepressants would be the cause, but whatever normally causes the depression could be. You may also have developed a distaste for sex as it is realated to the body parts that have caused you pain and probably psychological turmoil. If it worries you and you want to improve your sex drive then I would suggest exploring to see if the physical sensation still feels good, and then exploring pictures to see if you can still find sexual subject matter that arouses you. One more possibility is that with out sex running you life you are poised to take over the world, with none of the traditional weakness associated with having to get laid.

There have been studies that show that men actually stress more over divorce than women. We are sensitive beings. Maybe some counseling would help, talk things out, square your head away. You may be depressed, it would be natural. Depression can be treated with certain medicines but do not develop a dependency!!! If you decide to use anti-depressant medicine do it only for a few weeks, and taper off gradually. Other than that, your mind will heal on its own eventually, you just have to wait it out. Like getting over a death in the family. It just takes time. You can make it easier on yourself if you can afford to get away on a vacation, take a trip for a week or two, or take a weekend to go camping or hiking or just take a long drive. It will get better, though.

Well, surgeries DEALING w/ your reproductive organs can DEFINATELY put a damper on things...add antidepressants & I'd say it's a mix of things.

My advice: Find a naturopathic physician to help you regulate your hormones. It costs me about $160/mo - but it WORKS.
