Well bud, at first I have 6 by the way and 3 huge ones and my right arm is sleeved, and it depends where you get them at buddy!!! The arms are not really that bad and feeling like a little pain as if you took a paper clip and opened it up and rubbed it up and down your arm really fast. A burning hurt but minor on the arms and goes away as the artist proceeds; Then they spray it with water as they go along and that feels great and cool it and the one on my chest hurt the most, and that felt like stabbed little sharp pains until finished and my guy gave me rubberbands to hold and pull on and I broke 4 of them when he was doing my chest, so they are painful; Feeling mainly; Burning, Hotness to the area which goes away after the first 10 or so minutes as your body releases Endorphins to that affected area and they help to sooth the pain and take away the burning feeling maybe and its not really that bad on the arms and legs; Chest and other sensitive areas it is just a little pin pick sensation and this repeatedly done leads to swelling and a little burning feeling and then its all over and your feel like your on top of the world bud!!!

hey i just got a tattoo on my hip yesterday and one on my lower back six years ago. the more "cushion" in the area the less it will hurt. if its just skin and bone it will hurt more. tattoos hurt. but its not constant pain. they put the tattoo gun on you then lift it and wipe as soon as they lift it the pain goes away. but i think its worth it. all you have to do is concentrate on something else. i havent gotten stung by a bee since i was little so i dont know if that is an accurate description. but one on your foot would hurt more than your arm. good luck and dont let the fear of the pain stop you from getting one if you really want to

I don't think I'd compare it to a bee-sting, because a bee will sting you once and then you're done...a tattoo session lasts a little bit longer than that.

But if you're scared about the pain, it's inevitably going to hurt, but it's tolerable...it becomes more annoying than painful.

The foot area will hurt more, because theirs more nerves and bones there than in your arm, but again, its' going to hurt anywhere you get it.

A tat is a needle stabbing your skin ~60 times a second. Of course they hurt. And expect more pain on the foot area. It's just a bit more sensitive.

I really like reading other people's postings. My sister, mother and I all just recently got our first tattoos. My sister's is on the top of her foot, my mother's is on her ankle, and mine is on my lower back. I swear my sister and mother have the highest tolerance to pain of anyone I have ever met in my entire life. My mom had all 3 of us kids w/o any meds: so she took her tat like a champ!!!!! My sister only winced when she got her foot done: she said it wasn't too bad at all, and is already thinking about what she wants to get done next. A few days later when I got mine (and I am the self-proclaimed wimpiest person in the world with the lowest tolerance for pain ever!!!!!) on my back, I thought it really hurt: I just did deep breathing and didn't cry (my sister was so proud that I didn't cry-like I said, everyone who knows me knows that when I stub my toe I want to scream and cry!!!!)
It is all a matter of your own pain tolerance. Good luck!

The amount of pain you will experience depends on the area and how high your tolerance is. My arm felt like a white-hot scalpel cutting me, my chest felt like a 10-ton weight pushing me through the chair, and my shin bone felt like a concentrated beam of fire was burning through my skin =)

Top of the foot... I don't recommend if it is your first one. My sister in-law has something like 9 tats so far and she is a tough girl, but she cried hysterically when she got her foot done.

the foot is one of the worst places to get a tattoo...i talked to a few ppl who have them on their feet. yes tattoos do hurt..to me there are some areas more tender than others. when they hit those tender spots it feels like ur skin is being ripped off...also, the tattoo artist that did my latest tattoo said that getting a tattoo is a second degree burn...hope this helps u out. you will never completly understand what a tattoo feels like til u do it urself. so good luck :D

It stings. Also, it itches durring and after. Feet, hands and face and spinal cord tend to increase the effects, due to the concentration of nerve endings. Make sure you get something that you think you will still enjoy 40 years from now after it fades. Good luck
