Okay so if your an Atheist, you obviosly don't believe in God. And if your a Christian then well..you do duh! But what if everything Christians, mormons, muslims, believe in is just a lie, or vise versa.
Some more thoughts, I visited godisimaginary.com and christianity.com. Godisimaginary had really fascinating proof and was very convincing. It talked about praying being a superstition, and Jesus being fiction, and God being cruel, and the pope not reading the bible and on and on. I would like to hear your thoughts....and yes I do a lot of research for my age.

Good girl! Keep researching!
One point I'd like to bring up: You use the word "proof". That's very important in the context of this discussion. One thing that Christians have said to me over and over again in debate is "well, you can't prove that God doesn't exist". And I'm sure you'll hear that a few times too. The thing about that is, I can't prove that the Tooth Fairy doesn't exist either. Or the Easter Bunny. Does that mean they MUST exist? Of course not. And one can reasonably assume that the Tooth Fairy and Easter Bunny aren't real because there is a lack of evidence to support the idea that they are. The same is true of gods. Don't let the believers put their burden of proof on you.

1) I don't know how old you are, but I began researching faith in 5th grade after switching schools. People start young. Thank goodness.
2) No one has proven God. That is not to say, however, than he won't eventually be proven - it takes time to prove things. New things are being discovered every day. Why not God? So, I'm agnostic, neither believing nor disbelieving.
3) Many buy into "Pascal's Wager" - meaning, if everything they do believe is a lie, then what's the harm? Many say in return that they'd just prefer to live good lives and not believe in something just because it's the "safe" choice.

Check my name for my sprituality. I have done a lot of research myself. I claimed christianity for a time in my life. I do beleive in God being the creator, however i view the bible as a book of wise writings instead of a holy book. I reach God through nature and i do not apply a him/her to God. My experience is that God is both and can be seen as the lord and the lady if you so choose. What fullfills your spiritual need? Not what plays right on your emotions. Continue to search and ask questions. However, I do highly sugggest you read the books of the path you pursue. Study them with an open mind . I found that they all contain universal truths, but no one particular established form of belief agreed with me.

First of all, the pope is catholic; let's separate RELIGION from Christianity, SHALL we??
I doubt if he was a true Christian he be having people falling down at his feet and worshiping him as christ on earth; and secondly, he wouldn't be overseer of a church that goes AGAINST the Bible on so MANY points.....
If you KNOW your Bible...he JUST doesn't fill the bill of a born again Christian......he'd be more like one of the religious leaders Jesus would have called a serpent!

if God is not real... then I'm wasting my life away. But i know for sure.
dont trust everything you read on the internet. Jesus being fiction goes against historical fact, people cannot blame God for being cruel because He owes humans nothing, and the pope does not represent all Christianity, but i doubt he really doesnt read the Bible anyways.

I think it's great that you're looking at the issues on your own, instead of simply agreeing with those around you.
I also tend to think that god is an imaginary entity. It makes sense that humans have created god to suit their emotional needs and address cultural issues.
When learning, the most important thing is to consider different points of view and find the ideas that best fit our evidence. The universe is a very strange place, too strange for simple answers.
I have not found anything more convincing than atheism as of date, or the agnosticism of Carl Sagan.

I am an agnostic - i believe some knowledge is beyond human's ability to know. Such as the existence or non-existence of a god. Or how the universe really started. Some questions will just never be answered.

Here is a site you might enjoy about how Early Christians "borrowed" almost the entire religion from the pagans. Very good read

Do not waste your time on research on a subject which has no Base-Line or a reference point.Try to learn and apply rationality on the life-issues and slowly bur surely, things would begun to sort out themselves.
