Unfortunately we can not make the person that we love, love us. It is just a fact of life! I have been exactly where you are right now, and it feels like he##!! Time will help, but you will still feel that life is just not fair, and it isn't. You will, like the rest of us, survive it. Just be a bit more cautious next time you think about giving your heart away. Best of luck!!

I know exactly what this is. I'm feeling it right now actually. It's because we know we're going to get hurt or we want to protect ourselves from getting hurt.

Don't you hate that their is always someone with more power in a relationship? Someone who is loved just a little bit more and does a little less loving? The one who is loved a little bit less is just always ready to get hurt and at the first sign of potential, they die a little inside.

My boyfriend of 8 months (we lived together for 7) just moved back to the UK to finish up University while I do the same in the US. He hasn't called me for two days and I'm a wreck.

If you are just scared of getting hurt, what I do is remind myself of all of the nice things that he's done for me. Like give me a beautiful necklace, his favorite towel and pillow, and his emails.

If you think it is going to happen. Find a friend. Or message me (megan.fluke@yahoo.com), I have a lot of experience in this.

Best of luck. If you're hurting right now, drink something warm (tea, cocoa), get a good book and just enter a new place where this pain isn't there.

Ooh, man you're definitely in love. I don't know what to say except I can feel your pain through your words.

That person probably didn't deserve you to begin with--even if they are a nice, good person, it just wasn't the right time for this love to happen.

This is a famous quote (from one of my undergrad literature classes, but I can't remember the author) that helped me through my worst heartache. It may help you,I hope.

"The world breaks many and afterwards many are strong in the broken places."

Yes! You are right, that just happened to me, and my wound is so fresh, guess what? who that is?
My own mother, no not step mother, but my own flesh and blood.
Take a look at my question and you will know, what I am talking about.
That's exactly I did, sacrificed everything, threw away my job my life, moved and today she has left me with nothing.
I would not wish that for my worst enemy, you have no clue, what I am going through.
I am a nervous wreck, with sever depression and suicidal, all I see is darkness, and feels like I am drowning.

hey im right there with u. i feel like im dead, the very first man who i believed really loved me killed me staring me straight in my eyes. and im not young either ive been married twice never in my life did i really feel like i was loved except by this very same person who has killed me.why do they do it i dont know i tried to say it was my fault but it wasent i tried to pretend it didnt hurt but it does....ect ect. mayby they didnt know just how much we valued them as our partner, maybe they dont know what love feels like but that cant be it because ive given my heart totally to this person also, why they do it, if i came up with an answere that makes sense whould either of us say oh okay now i understand why your ripped my heart out and stepped all over it and then blew it up again only so u can do it again and again, would any answere justify there actions, would any answere make the hurt go away, if so ide like the answere also because i dont like the pain i feel every minute of everyday.this is also from my heart as broken as it is.

because you know without a doubt that you would do anything for that person and even if that meant dying for them and they get scared and run taking your heart with them it is mean and cruel but if it is meant they come back we all love to deep and get hurt easly i have had my heart toren out and thrown on the ground and stomped before time heals everything .

I have loved a few people truly.

And I still don't quite understand this one.

Sorry, but poor English is a real killer.

Love is death because it makes us so vulnerable to that other person. I've been there and it makes me never want to go back.
