Go to Control Panel, open Internet Options, click on 'Programs' tab on top, click 'Make Default' and check the 'Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default web browser' box.

when you open up ie, it should say something like " Internet explorer is not your current internet browser. Would you like to set it to your default internet browser?" just click yes. it only pops up every once in a while though.

- Go to Tools > Internet Options. It will open the Internet Options dialog box.
- Click on the Porgrams tab.
- Under 'Default web browser' click on the button 'Make default'.
- Click on Apply to save changes and click on OK to close the dialog box.

download a html file, or create one, then right click on it, go to properties/open with, Internet explorer, ok.

Hi. Your desktop should have both IE and FF icons. Just choose which one you want.
