Since when is a candidates Religion even disclosed during an election. Someone thought it was a good tool to keep a good man from winning. Lets focus on the candidates ability, track record and experience. Not whether those of his religion wears one piece undies or what a member of his church did 100 years ago. Who's running here Brigham Young or Mitt Romney??

It was through Young's abuse of the ability to legally have more than one wife, that made it such an issue, that the legislature made it illegal. People don't generally like to see another man gorge himself, in front of other men.
To me, I don't agree with this practice, but some may think it very enjoyable to be in such a union.
Shii men, to this day, enjoy such oneness, although, the wives don't live in the same household. And 'according to Islamic law,' the first wives must agree to have this union of two, expanded.

I don't care. Wouldn't enter my mind as an issue. I will vote for whoever I think would make the best candidate. If religion were an issue, I would be far less likely to vote for someone who claimed to be Born Again or for that matter even Southern Baptist, because in my mind, they are one in the same and I do not agree with their ultra conservative babble.

What's wrong with being gay? The LDS/Mormon church idolizes BY and goes on and on about what a great man he was. Yet he was a blatant racist (the guy y'all believe to be the mouthpiece of god) and a polygamist. What a role model. As for people making an issue of Mitt Romney's beliefs, I guess it is the same as that Muslim candidate. Religion does matter and if people don't want to vote for somebody based on their race, religion, country of origin, culture, etc, that's their perogative, just like it is yours to believe the things you do. (Not saying it's right to vote based on those things, but this IS America--Mitt Romney may have a right to run for President as a LDS/Mormon, but Americans have a right NOT to vote for him because he is LDS/Mormon).

Brigham Young had access to the New Testament. And it has not changed from then till now.
(1 Timothy 3:2) The overseer should therefore be irreprehensible, a husband of one wife, moderate in habits, sound in mind, orderly, hospitable, qualified to teach,
HUSBAND OF ONE WIFE!...

It does not bother me in the slightest.
If you read the "Old Testament" you will read of the "Polygamy" and the Incest all throughout.
Question:
If it was not considered wrong by God then, then why is it consider wrong by Man today?
Does Man have a higher value of Moral Standards then God?

People care because they fear that if a Mormon President is elected that possibly Congress might have to implement a bill to have all the young daughters of the people married off to crooked politicians---and if that happens then they might even have to deal with writing a bill to start sacrificing virgins... Who knows? The entire thing boils down to the media just trying to conjur up more controversy around select candidates because there is some rich old *** in the background of the party lining the pockets of the VP of the news media networks and publications to get their man elected. And as for the gay comment? I'm not gay, but I would think a monogamous Gay would be alot safer bet than someone who follows the rediculous practices written by some insane twisted freak who found 7 plates out in the woods and used all the brainwashing and so forth to make it acceptable for him to have sex with minors and therefore marrying them to make it 'right' in inbreeding and depletion of family gene pools!!!!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't Mormon supposed to be Christians? The full title of the religion is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But the founder of the religion broke one of the rules of being a christian leader.
1Tim.3:1-2 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
