Since the Taurus is coming back, there's rumor that the Taurus SHO will come back as well.

The current rumor runs in two directions... the Yamaha V8 currently in a Volvo (which is owned by Ford), and a twin-turbo version of the current engine in use in Ford Edge (Cyclone V6?)

The problem with Five Hundred / Taurus is so BLAND looking... They need to do something to spruce up the entire chasis. While the older Taurus SHO still look like a Taurus, it also looks like it means business, as it IS lower and has more of front air dam.

EDIT: Agree with Drifti there... I've seen the article in C&D and the Falcons do look good. The problem is the steering is on the wrong side and it's cost too much to change it. It's not as simple as "just mirror it". Supposedly the Aussie Fords will move onto the world platform soon, and if so it'll be engineered for both RHD and LHD, and then we'll see...

I totally agree with driftinak47. Ford is a great auto manufacturer and they know how to work with power, but they haven't produced any cool power sedans. The 2008 Taurus has 263 hp, but i'm not sure if it's considered a power sedan because it's way more than a family car than a racing car. The Tusion looks sporty and handles sporty as well, so I guess the closest ford will get to in sporty sedans is the Fusion and the Taurus. Although, Lincoln makes good sporty sedans like the LS and the MKZ, and the best for lincoln will be the 2008 MKS (which is the classier version of the 2008 taurus). The MKS was rumored to have at least 315 hp, they could have lowered it since it was the concept that had 300, and it has a Lexus/Acura/Japanese appearence to it, so that will currently be the sportiest sedan Ford will have.

Ford's power sedan is in the Australia, the Falcon line. Ford Falcons there come with turbo inline 6's or big v8's (not sure of actual numbers those cars are putting out). Why ford has nicer cars outside of the U.S. (like the focus in europe) is beyond me.
