If you are afraid of doing something, it's probably your heart telling you not to.
If you are afraid of both (or however many) options, choose the lesser of two (or more) evils.
If you are equally afraid of all your options, throw caution to the winds, toss a die, and go with whatever Fate/Destiny tells you.
And if you make a mistake, well, welcome to the world. Everybody does, but most of them are easy to fix if you catch them early enough. And if you're being so careful that you can't hear your own conscience/wants, you should be able to handle it.

You have a little voice inside you that is small, but never goes away, listen to that, it is your conscience. You may need to do some meditation or prayer to find it, but it's there and always will be. Always balance your heart with your gut instincts, your conscience and your own brain.
Following your heart is NOT the greatest piece of advice you will ever get nor is it the best tool for making decisions.
Even so, you will make mistakes. Your heart will get broken and knocked around. It stinks. But you will make far fewer mistakes if you listen to your inner voice, not just your heart.

Well it depends. Its not always good to just follow your heart. Sometimes it pays to be rational and to think things through carefully.
You can't know when something is right. You take a risk whenever you make a decision...If things don't turn out the way you expected them to be then you just have to learn from your mistakes and ensure that you won't make such mistakes in the future.
Life is not perfect...We fall but we need to learn to pick ourselves up and move on.

following your heart, you don't care too much about "what if"s
You just do what you wants to, try your best without analyzing the consequence or chances of success.
You just have to be cool with the repercussion. Not as in trying to guess the consequence, but just generally be strong and determined that you can handle it whatever the consequence are. That way, you won't be over analyzing something because you know you can handle it whatever the out come is and so you don't care and don't analyze.

well honestly when you follow your heart you listen to it by kissing someone and if your heart flutters then it is telling you that it loves that and if you don't feel anything then your heart didn't either and if you see someone and your heart skips a beat then iyour heart thinks its good.... and when you have been with someone for so long that this still happens then you have listened to your heart.... its not easy but once you have heard what your heart has to say once or twice you get the hint so good luck

look everyone makes mistakes ,,, were not perfect and u know it but you got to take risks once in a while and learn from the good and bad i bet ur smart and all gurls have an instinct in them .... u make choices everyday... what makes u choose one over the other... think of it like that..... u choose what u think is good n better .... thats following..... do it go 4 it learn from it... youll do good i bet... tk bay n goodluck with ur heart

Following your heart is stupid.
It shows a lack of discipline, indecisiveness, and selfishness.
You need to do what's right.
You can "follow your heart" in that process, but you should be more concerned with another's well being moreso than your own.
