If you are continuing smoking then your chances are as great as others that smoke more. If you were to quit now you can reduce those chances. Also, it is better to quit prior to age 40 since most cancers occur between the ages of 45 and 60. Get a nicotine patch and quit now so we can talk to you in years to come.

not very high but there is always some risk if you were to get a smoke related disease it would take 10 years plus to even have a hint of a disease other than shortness of breath and cough. but theres always a risk. and if you did smoke and now you quit it takes around 2 years to repair lungs from smoking for 10 years

If you already know that smoking causes cancer and other diseases, why would you still smoke?

it doesn't matter how long or how much you smoke. everyone's body reacts differently to different things. there are 4 known carcinogens in cigarettes-along with 55 other nasty ingredients, it's not just tobacco anymore. everyone has cancer in their body really, but it needs an activater. until then it lies dormant. think of it that way. you could smoke a pack a day for 10 years, or 1 cigarette a day for 2 years, it doesn't really matter, in either scenario it can happen. think of it as russian roulette.
