I bought an L shaped desk, and on one side of the "L", there is a hutch. How do I decorate the hutch?

The room is almost a super pale yellow/linnen color with hard wood floors. The I have an iris and some bamboo, a Live Laugh Love chinese picture, some books, and a green and white leaf pattern chair. The vibe is natural/hippy. I want to do something cool on top of the hutch that would add to the room but I dont know how to decorate this. Any suggestions?

You will need the shelves for books and such so leave those free for now. On top, it would be nice to have a small plant, this will look good and add to your natural theme. Also, you could put one of my other four ideas:
1) A nice basket or box
2) A neat stack of books/binders
3) Some of those magazine holders
4) A lava lamp would very good-- add to the hippy vibe (or just any other lamp)

Above the desk, you could find something else Oriental to go with your live laugh love Chinese picture, such as another picture, a lantern, a scroll or some calligraphy.

It's a lovely desk and I'm sure it will look fantastic.

Keep it simple, it will get messed up enough when you start to really use it. You may need that space later for books, manuals and such. I would get a oriental framed print and lean it against the wall. Next to it, I would do as in the photo and get a large live fern.
