How many cats do you own right now?

Just wondering how many cats everyone owns?
At what point does someone become a "cat lady"?
I have 2 boy kitties, the BF has 1 girl and 1 boy cat.

Let's see -- I have 6 in the house, 2 in the shop, 2 in a big cage outside (8' x 8' x 8') and 9 in a special room we built called the cattery. We sometimes switch them around, but some only want to stay in their space and get upset if we move them. I have had as many as 28 cats, but we also rescue cats so the number varies. We are currently trying to find new homes for 6 pre-spoiled young adults.

I have 3 cats at this point in time. I'd have 50 if I could. Along with a long list of other animals some domestic and some wild.

Last year I had 4 cats, but I had to put one of them down, because he had a heart problem.

As long as you and the cats are happy, you can take care of all the cats you have, and your house doesn't smell like a litter box then don't worry about being a "cat lady." Just don't wear those shirts with a million cats on them. Now that's where I would draw the line.

*sighs HUGE sigh*
sadly I just lost my beloved kitty to an hit and run...she was an indoor kitty but my irresponsible roommate came home drunk last Fri night & had the doors ope & closed periodically & Oona(my cat) snuck out in the night & I had the displeasure of finding her dead the next morning. =*(
Im still moring her terribly but there isnt much I can do now , we burried her in my back yard & made her a very nice headstone...may she rest in peace♥

and in answer to the other part of your question I dont think you qualify as a "cat lady" till you have at least 12 cats or maybe like 7 or 8 if you live in a small apartment

I also have two boy kitties...aren't they the sweetest? :) I think it depends where you live AND how many cats you have that determines if you are a cat lady. If you have 20 cats and live on a farm it doesn't sound so bad. If you live in a one bedroom apartment with 15 cats, well that starts to sound a little "cat lady"ish

Currently have one, a year and a half old female Ragdoll mix.
We've had about nine at one time - and I think that's qualifying for the cat lady designation. However, I always imagined it would be me, alone, and a houseful of at least 20 cats (as long as I could pay for someone to do the cleaning!).

I own 2 females but would love another one or two, if I had a bigger place and a little higher income. I don't think that being a cat lady only depends on how many you have. For example, my mother only owns one cat but she treats that cat better than she does her own kids! So I would definitly say she is a cat lady. Or if you find yourself signing birthday cards and adding their names, you may have crossed over to cat lady status :)

We currently only had 3 but at one time for quite a few years we had a total of 5. As long as you can provide them with the proper medical attention, vaccinations, proper food, clean cat pans and lots of love then who cares. One thing to think about is where you live because some counties only will allow so many pets as well as landlords if you are renting. As for being a "cat Lady" all it takes is one. If your referring to hording then any number can be dangerous.

over the last 6 years ive had 17 cats, because im always taking in kittens, either abandoned or ones that need a new home.but i dont think i qualify as a crazy cat lady because i always find good homes for all of them, right now i only have one cat. shes the one im not ever gunna give away.
but i dont think having 4 cats makes you a crazy cat lady lol

you become a cat lady when the cats are everywhere, I figure more than 6 would make you a cat lady
