sure. I would let them think for themselves.

It would have to be.
BUT I am lucky - they haven't. They have grown up loving and giving free thinkers with a very healthy understanding of philosophy (including morality) and science. Yet I did expose them to religions and of course they had the Christian pushed on them from school and the family. Through all they suffered, they remained free and loving and giving.
What father could wish for more. I am so proud of them.

Offspring? What are we animals now? properly if my "infants" had to grow to be religious then they maximum probably would have an impeccable reason. A reason so good it will make me grow to be religious. If via accident they did no longer have a good reason then i could settle for them besides. i could under no circumstances disown my infants, yet i understand a christian parent could disown their newborn in the event that they grew to become an atheist.

We've worked hard to give them an overview of the different beliefs and religions throughout the world. Of course, we don't know many of the intricate details of many of them, but we have encouraged them to explore further on their own.
We will support them in whatever they decide to believe because WE believe it's a decision they must make on their own.

Like they say: they aren't any religious kids, just the kids of religious parents... (works for atheists too, in must cases)

I've discussed this with my kids a few times, especially my oldest who is 15. I have told them that it is up to them, not up to me. if one day they realize they really do believe there is a god, then I want them to be honest and open with me about it, and not at all fear a negative reaction. I want them to be happy :) It is only for them to decide what works. My one rule is that they do NOT try to convert me lol... We both must respect one another.
My youngest has already said things to me like "Science can't answer everything, like if there is a god or not".. I explain to him as best I can my take on it, but I welcome the fact that he is asking his own questions.
Basically yes, it would be ok. If they are happy, I am happy.

If you're a doctor, and you raise your child to understand how germs, disease and medicine work, and then that child decides to become a psychic healer, I think you'd consider your child to be suffering from delusional thinking or some harmful, cult-like phenomenon.
Yet, I wouldn't be disappointed in them so much as myself for failing to give them what they needed to think critically.
If a person is taught to think critically, and observe the universe rationally, the only logical conclusion is that supernatural thinking is absurd. If absurd thinking persists, it means that the child wasn't given the necessary tools to reason effectively.

i think with most atheists they would tolerate it, would it be ok with them No, but most of the athiest parents would propbably allow thir kids to believe or not why? because their heart is soft towards their kids, while some athiest parents will disown their kid or send then somewhere else to live or not allow them to participate in several things. and that can be a issue because the kids will have a soft heart towards mom and dad and try t save them then the mom or dad might not want to talk to their kids much

I am not an atheist but whether or not it was "ok" with the parent, children are seperate beings with their own souls and no parent will be able to successfully talk God out of their child when the child knows.

I'm glad I came here. For the last few months, I've been thinking all athiests were just jerks, hypocrites...as bad as the Christians they calim are all psycho zealots. I have finally gained some respect for you. Thanks. (Well, to most of you, anyway). Btw, I'm Christian...and I'm not one of those who try forcing their opinions on others. And although I'm pretty hardcore about it, I've never forced anythig on my daughter...God gave us all free will. Why would I deny that to a gift of His that He gave me? But in all honesty, really...thanks. I won't ever call you names because you don't agree with me, but I thought thats all an Athiest ever did because thats all I've ever seen in YA. Not here, today...
