Ortthodx believes are based on ancient facts. All prayers give prominence to old testament (I call the first covenants because there is no old or new). God himself led the Israelites out of Egypt to Isreael to the promised land. Do you know what is Israel? God renamed Jacob's (Issac's son) name as "Israel" even before they reached the promised land which is now called "Israel". Orthodox christianity upholds all the covenants and commands of God given to them. That is why orthodox liturgy is very powerful, and the Holy Qurbana is very pleasing and blessing.

I hope this question is open to agnostics...

I find kind people in every religion. Honestly. I have a Jewish friend, and her family and friends are amazing. I recently made a Muslim friend, and she's very kind.

If you want me to focus specifically on Christianities, then I will only say the same thing. People are kind from all denominations that I've met - most intimately, that would be Methodist, Baptist (5 years of schooling with them), Catholics (8 years of schooling with them), nondenom's, and some others.

People are people. They're either kind or not. In my experience, good and kind people aren't limited to one denomination. You guys are more alike than you think (if only you guys could all just get along..).

EDIT: By "good and kind", I assume you mean understanding, accepting, and loving. I don't agree, at times, with their views of the issues - but that's OK. Agree to disagree and move on...

I've found more Catholics with whom I can agree on basic non-religious issues than any other religion. It's hard to find liberal viewpoints in any Christian denomination... they are all so very repressive. And repression leads to some pretty nasty circumstances.

You will find good and kind people in almost any denomination, just like you will find good and kind people in almost any city.

Stereotyping has its uses, but usually applying attributes to broad swaths of people is not a good thing.

I've found quite a few Catholic and Lutheran people who were very good and kind to others, no matter what they believed in.

There are "good people" in every denomination of every religion. In my opinion, they're all delusional and unhealthy to associate with large groups of them. No certain denomination will be heavily concentrated with wonderful people.

Mormons. Their beliefs are pretty wacky (who's aren't?) but in practice all they preach is love, happiness, acceptance and tolerance. If I were to join a serious religion, it would e that one.
