This question is impossible to answer for sure. It all depends on what your pain tolerance is and where the tattoo is placed.

I don't mean to sound rude but this question is asked every single day, about 5 times. Why not just look those up?

It's always answered the same way too. It all depends on you pain threshold. I don't think they hurt that much at all, others have said they hurt like hell. I have one on my shoulder blade, I'd say it was about a 10, you get used to the pain after the first few lines.

It depends on the idividuals pain threshold. I have a tattoo on my shoulder blade and I would say that on a sccale of 1-100, it hurt about 45. Not unbearable, but uncomfortable, it feels like when you get a bad scratch. Hot and kinda sore, but nothing major.

I have to say .. 60 for shading.. and 40 for the rest.. But like all others are saying. it all depends on where it is going... One your back.. shoulders, lower spine area.. those don't have alot of skin.. so therefore.. you are going to feel more... I felt more of a ripping sensation... the outline is what hurt me most.. that was very uncomfy.. But with the coloring.. it just goes numb after awhile..
But.. it is all one owns opinion of course.. it is all on your own pain level... and where it is going.. If you put it where there is more skin.. fatty tissue.. then it is less likely that it will hurt badly... Another thing might be if you watch... if you can't handle watching needles.. perhaps you shouldn't have it where you can see it being done.. and perhaps that would help ease ones pain too.. by watching it all happen... Don't know..
Good luck with this... make sure you get something that you want on you for life though.. don't regret it like many of my friends have.. including my husband... Make the piece a memorie for life.. cause you are scared for life...

I don't know about your scale but I didn't find it all that painful. It was certainly uncomfortable (mine is very near my shoulder blade) but it wasn't that bad. Of course, I had three kids with no drugs so if it doesn't hurt more than that, I'm good. =0)

I think someone has it right when they say it all depends on the individual.

well i had it done on my leg so i can't give an accurate answer but i would say

for about the first hour and a half -20. For the last twenty minutes or so of shading i would say it might be a 5. The worst part is having to sit still for 2 hours

Honestly it depends on the person. I have a good example for you. Me and my sister in law both have tats in about the same places. One on the back/shoulder blade area and another on our legs. I had my leg done first and i didn't think it hurt to terribly bad, my sister in law freaked out and about past out from the pain from the one she had done on her back. So she said obviously the back was the worst place to have one done because i didn't think my leg had hurt. Then we went back and i had one done on my shoulder, which after all she went through i thought it might tingle a bit more then my other one had. It really hadn't i thought there was really no difference between the two places. She had the same exact problem with the one on her leg, the tattoo artist didn't even finish her color in all the way because of this. So i have to say that it is all in your pain perception, i can handle a good ole tat any day but if i stub my toe i am in tears. The best thing i can tell you is to have one done for yourself and then you be able to see how you do. Do what you think is best don't let anybody scare you off because theirs just about killed them, you might react differently or the same who knows? Good luck to you=)

It's painful. It turly does feel like getting cut with a razor. There is bleeding, and you feel an intense burning sensation. It is all part of the experience though. I can't really rate it on a scale of 1-100. I haven't experienced many painful things in my life so I don't really have nothing else to compare it to.

i just got one done on my shoulder blade...and if its ur first tattoo, its prolly gonna hurt more cuz ur gonna be nervous. that's where my first one was. lol. id say on a scale of 1-100 its prolly bout 45....but that's just me. and i dont take pain well. it also depends on the size of ur tattoo. mine only took a half an hour. my last one took 3 hours... i did good until the last half an hour on that one. lol. anyways, good luck. try not to get addicted after that first one. i know i did. lol.

Uhm ok more than the one I have on my back so I'd give the houlder blade a 4/5? Nothing too dramatic.
