True what the others say. One thing about IQ is the complex problem of factoring in other things. What I mean is, this boy from India who is said to be the smartest boy in the world, was tested by top IQ experts and he didn't do so good.

He tested high in areas like word meaning, math, but when he was tested with other things more practical, he scored low. By the way this kid claims to know the cure to Cancer. This episode was shown on TLC and titled "The smartest boy in the world". It was inspiring to watch.

So IQ, in my mind is lacking in some areas of testing. Some kids like the boy above, did not have allot of child to child interaction (practical skills) but did good and was very articulate around a group of Dr. and Scientists.

If you practiced word problems, math problems, etc. then took an IQ test, you would do good. Similar to studying for a SAT or other entry exam. The problem I see with IQ tests is the dilemma of "Is a person born with a heightened IQ or is it learned?" You be the judge.

Don't believe the answer above me. This person clearly did not do his research when he chose to copy information from a hoax email. Most Presidents' IQ's are unknown, since many never took an IQ exam or did not release the results of exams they did take. By the way, our current President has never had results of any IQ tests he may have taken made public, but his Air Force tests indicate an IQ somewhere around 119, according to Aubrey Immelman, a political psychologist and an associate professor of psychology at the College of St. Benedict and St. John's University. John F. Kennedy scored a 119. FDR was regarded as having only moderate intelligence by his contemporaries. Al Gore has a 133 or 134 score. Nixon has the highest on record at 143. I am a member of MENSA, which requires a 148 on the most common IQ test given, so it looks like I have a higher known IQ than any President, though some of our Founding Fathers would have no doubt performed extremely well.

Well the word has already been clarified.

What Intelligent Quotient means is not how smart a person is, rather it is measuring what you might possibly be able to learn.
Say your IQ is around 70 just a few points above what is considered Retarded. That would mean in most cases that trying out to become a Computer Programmer or a Brain Surgeon would be out of the question.

The average is around 100.

70 is retarded (not PC)
80 is dullard (also not PC)
90 is slow learner
91 is George W. Bush - the lowest IQ of ANY US President since these things were measured.
98 is next lowest (any guesses? George H. W. Bush)
