We are OK with Mama and Papa but when enrolling him in school do we just say we are Mother & Father or refer to ourselves as grandparents.

grandparents unless u legally adopted him then ur concidered mom n dad. let the principle know the story but tell him u want to keep it confidencal

Well technically you are still his Grandparents even though he will be living with you. I suggest you just let the school know the situation. More and more Grandparents are raising their grandkids. Go by Mama and Papa.

Tell the school the truth that legally you are his grandparents but adopting him as your grandson. There are many people in your siuation.Now on forms they address people as caregivers/guardians as there are so many different family situations..

My daughter at present calls us MAMA *on the suited of her lungs* and Deedoo. She's basically 18 months however so we are questioning which will replace. Tell the school you are his grandparents. Lots of grandparents are raising their grandchildren for one reason or another. Why are you worried about telling the truth?

Tell them you are the grandparents raising your grandchild. This is not an uncommon situation, they will respect you for what you are doing for this child.

Thats your choice..you may have to explain it so the teacher knows he is adopted incase he needs special attention or understanding
