I am so sorry that you lost your wife but it sounds like you dealt with it as best you could and you raised your daughters right. That is a lot to be proud of. Whether you date again or not is up to you but you certainly should not be guilty about it. It has been a very long time. If you are really worried about what your daughters think, then ask them before you even start seeing anyone. I am willing to bet that they will just want to see you happy (esp. because they barely had a chance to know their mother.) Hearing them say this may help you take the next step towards dating. If you do not know a woman that you would like to date, I would recommend using a match-making service online. That will give you a lot of distance and allow you to take your time, which it sounds like you will need since it has been so long for you. You sound like a really sweet, wonderful man though and I am sure something will eventually work out for you. Good luck!

It's never too late to start over. You did a wonderful job on your children & certainly stuck by them 150%. Not many folks out there can say the same as you. By all means it's your turn now to start living a happy life. You have many yrs. ahead of you & you sound like someone who would be super to spend time with & enjoy life. Just go slowly & be careful if you're new to the dating experience. Make sure the person is sincere & cares about you for you. I'm sure you w/have no problems finding someone who w/be just rite for you. I wish you all the best, you surely deserve it!

Once people get around the 50s~ it can sometimes be a hard time to not have a partner with you. It is the time where people will feel most lonely. However, it is good to ask your children and see how they feel on the subject first before you consider a second marriage.

It's fine to try to find a new friend that could be a partner!
It was until death do you part and it sounds like it would be nice for you to have a companion.
The trust issue is hard for people as they get older and wiser, but on the other hand make your moves slowly and maybe someone nice will become part of your life that you can trust.

Why not?? Embrace it. I am sure your daughters would be so happy to see you happy. Remember they are eventually gonna get married and move on. You need someone to love (and vice versa) and a companion.
