Melissa, ROMNEY doing the one world church thing? I might be totally ignorant of US politics, but it's the BUSHES who ahve been trying to do the "one world government, one world church" thing! They've been closer to the anti-Christ than Romney would ever be. Romney would NOT be in control of the government, there are what we call "checks and balances" in place.
Besides, I don't think Romney would have any interest in trying to force any church (or even religion itself) on anyone. Mormons are very staunch beleivers in FREE AGENCY. YOU choose what your faith is. Not the president of the USA.

And, yes, I, too, shudder in horror at another Clinton in the White House. Especially...(OOOOoooo! the humanity!) Hilary!

I'm afraid he might be the president predicted in the movie
Left Behind. You'll have to rent it and watch it. According to that movie, the anti-Christ is going to be a USA president canadate who will appear good and set up the perfect government. Then he will try to join all the world religions into ONE universal religion and then pass out the mark of the beast. Latter Day Saint is a Church that strives on perfection and having the perfect government body with in their church. If taken to a national level, that "Perfect Government System" the church has, could start the peace and perfect government that is predicted to come before the anti-Christ. You'll have to rent Left Behind.

If Romney were to be elected President and something terrible happened, it would not be because of him. The something terrible would have probably happened no matter who was President. Also Romney would not be taking orders from the Church Leaders, they don't tell us what to do in every little aspect of our lives.

There are only about 4 million Lds members in the US. I don't think that he will be elected as that is not enough people. It is because we are so different to the rest of the christian world. he would rely on revelation to run the country. I imagine that he woould ask the prophets advice if some big decision needed to be made.
also to the person who talked about hte Left behind series: The Anti-christ in the series was from Romania.

Good question. You think most of the people who have all these fears about Mitt Romney would have studied the U.S. Constitution more (the system of checks and balances built into it from the very beginning would prevent practically every specific fear I've ever heard from those people about what they think would happen if Romney became president, as to prevent any one person ever being able to single-handedly impose their personal views on the country).
John F. Kennedy faced similar concerns when he ran for president (people were afraid he'd take orders directly from the Vatican).

Donnie and Marie may not stand a snow-ball's chance against the Mormon Tabernacle Choir at the Inauguration.
Romney will bear his religion, but he won't advertise it except when the media catches him worshipping God on Sundays.
I am most confident that Romney, if elected, will follow the precepts of the Mormon faith and in particular, Article 12 of our Articles of Faith which reads:
"We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law."

My vote is still up in the air. But I wonder why Romney's religion is such a big question when Guiliani is a divorced man who cheated on his wife with his now wife. And Romney has been married to his wife for over 30 years.

Nothing terrible would happen!
He would be a good president I think. I'm not really into politics but that's what I think.
Why all the matter that he's a Mormon? all politician have a religious affiliation and Romney's is the LDS church, what's the big deal? Mormons don't harm anyone.
Oh Oh!!!!!!!! I just read a ridiculous answer.. it's somewhere in two spaces after my answer. Movie predictions, GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! super-terrific. WOW!

Just the thought of hearing the LDS celebrate something like that would make me campaign for Hillary and I am a Republican!
Whats so great about romney anyway? He is a one term governor from Mass. , no Military experience (not counting the wacky fairytale about the war in Heaven in the Pre-Existence, where he apparantly fought so bravely that he was awarded the priveledge of being born White and Delightsome to a mormon family). BUT HILLARY DOESN'T NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THAT, DOES SHE?
I am sure Hillary doesnt need anybody feeding her any irrelevant, irreverant info about Romney being a former stake President in the worlds wackiest church now does she?
HMMM???
I think I am going to enjoy this.

Nothing because he happens to be a Mormon. But I used to live in Massachusetts and I would NEVER vote for him for anything. He will say whatever he thinks people want him to say chasing votes.
