i was outside helping my mom with something and i decided to stay out for a min after. she was already in the house and i heard something so i looked around the yards. i thought i saw someone standing at the edge of my property. i don't want to tell my parents because i doubt they will believe me. they are accusing my sister of doing drugs because she's in a band with friends. i know they would think i'm making this up. and i don't want to call the cops because i know the person out there will run as soon as he or she knows that theres cops around. but i'm scared and i'm to the point where i want to cry. what do i do? :(

Is it unusual to see someone at the location you saw the person standing? Does your property go right up to some else's? Could it be your neighbor?

You said you are 18. I'm surprised you don't know what to do in these situations. If you can't act on your own, tell your parents. Or - if it happens again, scream "WHO'S THERE?"

You are at an age where you could be on your own protecting yourself. Your parents not believing you is a whole different subject.

I would call a friend's parent and see if they could bring a police officer there in regular cloths to catch them. Or if you have a camera see if you can take a picture of the person from a distance away, and then show it to your parents, because if your sister is doing drugs it could be someone that she knows and might try to break in your families house while everyone is sleeping and one of you might get hurt or killed. Even if your family don't believe you, you still have to think of your safety. Call someone or talk to your neighbor so that they can watch your house as well as theirs.

Girl!! Inform your parents and then call the cops. Last thing you need is to have this on your conscience if that person is out to do no good. Be proactive and make everybody go outside with you. But don't go by yourself!!

yeah, Joshua, the Lord is really going to help her when this guy ties her down and starts to molest her. Wise up man.
Look, call the cops. That guy is trespassing. So what if he runs. At least he'll be gone, and maybe the cops'll get him.

Um... it is rare to see someone around your house? It could just be someone who was walking by. You're going to start getting een more scared if you just sit there and ponder on it without anyone else knowing, so if you're really concerned i'd tell your parents ASAP.

you should tell your parents because this could get very dangerous and I'm sure you don't want to get kidnapped or hurt. trust it happens to people that think it wont happen to them or people that think the person isn't really there
