i am 19 and live in MD and my parents live in PA. and i go to a community college. can my parents claim me until i'm 25 if i have no connections with them (none, not insurance or anything)?!!?

Is your legal residence with your parents? Staying at school can be regarded as a temporary residence. Do your parents provide over half your support? Are you a full time student? If they don't support you, who does? Are you working?

If the answer to any of the first three questions is "no", then probably they can't. Support and residence are the key
issues.

For your information, the cutoff age is 23.

Doesn't sound like they'd be able to claim you on your federal return, if you don't live with them. If your permanent address is with them, and you go home on vacations, but just live in MD during school terms while you go to school there, they might be able to claim you until you're 23. But if you're self-supporting, then no they can't.

Dependents are not considered on PA state returns.

How long have you been out of your parents home? You can be claimed as a dependent as long as the parents provide a percentage of your living expense. I believe it is 75-80%. Your are in school or disable. You can check this at the IRS web site.
