My dogs Jack and Rusty for some reason like hiding under my bed. I let them sleep on top of my bed but for some reason they like under. They can hang out there for hours. It's not a big deal, but I'm just curious why they like hanging there. BTW- They are both yorkies if that means anything.

Wild dogs and wolves dig dens to live in. They feel safe and secure in their den and I think under the bed is as close as a pet dog can get to having their own den. A crate also can serve this purpose.

Some dogs like being under the shade of the bed. I let my dog, Hilary, ride in the car on top of the seat, but she'd rather prefer the bottom. I think they just wanna get shade.

could be because it is cooler and they like that.
It is also like having a dog house in the house. Privacy.
Many different things Some dogs will go under beds when they are scared others like yours just like to hang out under there and chill. LOL

this is a natural behavior for them as they are cavers. They will always go to their den in your home they will go under the bed behind the sofa in your closet anyway small dark and safe. I crate my dogs in my home my bedroom has a large crate I have covered with the same fabric as the windows my dogs love it I never lock the door or even close it anymore but when its bed time you will find both of them in their "cave" "den" Kennel" bedroom whatever.

The second response is correct, dogs historically have been den dwellers, and under the bed is dark, covered, safe, secure. They are just retreating to what they believe is their den. Very cute. Very normal.

I think its a "denning" thing. I know my dogs like to go under our coffee table, end tables, and dining room tables, along with the bed.

under the bed allows them undisturbed privacy but still lets them see everyone that comes in the room

well they might be scared of something big cause they are small and they are hiding from it. usually even bigger dogs hide under beds/tabels because theyre scared of storms
