yes there are temporary hair dyes that last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks....in a vast array of color choices. Try your local Walmart or Target store for a large selection to browse through, and then you can read the boxes carefully to see what will really work best for you.
BEWARE!!! If you have extremely light colored hair, or if you're younger, be extremely careful in what you chose to use...we dyed my 5 year olds medium brown hair "Strawberry Shortcake" red with a Loreal Color Pulse that was supposed to wash out in 10 shampoos........and her hair was still just red as could be after about 40 shampoos at CHRISTMAS!! LOL
We tried clarifying shampoo, peroxide, lemon juice, mayonaise......you wouldn't believe everything we tried over the course of 3-4 months. Most of it finally faded out by March...so just beware if you are not over 16 (when growth slows considerably) or have very very pale blonde hair.
Have fun!!

I dye my hair professionaly a temporary dark brown most of the time. I got it done about two months ago and I need to do it again because my roots are showing it's quite faded. It's full and thick as usual, but I use a color safe and repairing shampoo. For the first few weeks I used the Dove intensive repair stuff. Then I switched to the John Freida color collection stuff. It's just as nice as usual. But it depends on if you're planning to bleach it first? I doubt it since you want to go temporary. It's more the bleach that ruins your hair than the hair dye it's self. There's something else that I have to say on this subject though. If you get it dyed it probably will not return to normal. Even if it's only temporary. I wouldn't suggest dying it black if you're wanting to go back to your normal hair color eventually without having to dye a similar color. Well whatever you do I hope you like it! Love, Morgan. ♥

There are Roux rinses that give a highlight of color that completely wash out at the next shampooing. Other brands make similar products. The key to picking the one for you is: READ THE LABEL. If you aren't sure about one, skip it and go on to the next one. Try finding yours in a beauty supply store that is open to the public. The employees there may be able to help you with your selection.

i don't know of a shampoo (wish i did!) but i use FanciFull rinse after i shampoo and condition my hair - you can put it on your hair and then use mousse or gel on it - it washes out at your next shampoo. it definitely beats permanent color!

if you have blonde hair it will naturally get bleached by the particular sun in the summer. There was this guy in my class who had golden blonde hair that had been a medium brown near the bottom. When he came back to college after summer vacation, it was practically platinum blonde!
