I have a 2004 V6 Mustang. It's time for new tires. It has the stock 16inch rims. What is the widest tire I can use on the back without interfering with the wheel well? I want alittle more aggressive look to the rear of the car. I'm sticking with the stock size (P225/55) on the front.

This question was posted over 7 years ago. I no longer own the Mustang so don't worry about answering my question. Thanks!

unless you get wider rims your not gonna be able to achieve that sporty look your searching for. the stock v6 wheels just cant do it. but if you really wanted you might be able to fit 245 on there

What is width of the rim, and is the size of tire you have mounted on them? Depending on the rim width we could make some additional suggestions for you. Otherwise, yes, as suggested, the base model 04 Mustang was equipped with a 225/55-16 sized tire.

Original equipment was 225/55-16. These really do ride and perform better.
