the age gap is huge at that time of their lives, she is young and perhaps too young. that is a big decision to make, to have sex. and she isn't even old enough to vote, let alone decide if she is ready to chance pregnancy and diseases among other things. no you are not prying, you are a very good friend. the saying - you can have ten ok friends but all you really need is one great friend - or however it goes. you are that one great friend. she is very lucky to have someone looking out for her. everyone needs someone like that, a voice of reason. voice your opinion carefully so that she knows you are just trying to tell her how you feel and not attack her. hopefully she will understand. she may not take your advice and she may do so. she might know better and she might not. either way, be there as you are now. be there when she is crying because she regrets what she did and the consequenses and be there when she is overjoyed in her decision. there is being open-minded and there is being ignorant!

Wow, that's very young. A girls body is not fully developed at that age. Emotionally as well. Sex is very complicated. I hope they take their time in getting to know each other. They have time for sex after they're older. Plus sex is a lot more enjoyable for the guy then girl, she'll get nothing out of it. And will probably expect more then what she'll get. Being in love and older can make sex very powerful. Being young and naive can leave you empty and lonely. I wish them good luck.

well unfortuatley you won't have a say whether they do it or not. But yes she is too young, and at those precious years, this is too much of an age difference. I think about who I was at 14 and who I was at 17...whew what a difference physically and emotionally. and by the way...just cause they're in love doesn't mean that sex should happen next. Be young and be in love, there's the rest of your life to have sex.

He has a lot more experience then her and isn't naive like she is. If she's a virgin (which i'm guessing she is) then she just is falling for a guy she doesn't really "know". Five months isn't long enough and she's too young to really know what she's getting herself into with this 16 year old. He shoodn't have sex with her.

Your friend is still basically a child and too young to have sex. It doesn't matter how long she's dated or what age the guy is. She should wait until she's at least out of high school to even consider it.

No you should be looking out for your friend..I agree with you I think she are too young, but I also wonder if you really have good intentions.
if you do, then pull your friend aside and tell her what is really going on and be gentle. She may want to have sex with him and there is nothing you can do about that. You maybe able to talk to her parents I am SURE they would like to know about their daughter and this guy!

I dont think that the issue is age I think that it is maturity. If she is mature enough to make a decision like that then she is mature enough to do it, but just remind HER that she will have to deal with the consequences if they come cause no form of birth control is 100% safe... and the guy can always bail on her. yes i think that they are a bit young but if thy think that its right you telling them NO isnt goin to make a bit of differance.

No, it's not appropriate. She's young, and she doesn't seem to realize that she'll only have this once. If something goes wrong, she could become pregnant, and honestly, its better to save your virginity for someone who you know you'll spend your life with, a gift only for them, rather than give it up to someone who she's likely to break up with...

14 is way too young to have sex...at that age, they're just doing it for fun or experience...sex is not just for fun, its a sacred thing that should be done only to those people committed to love...if u want to experience sex, experienced it with someone you love vice versa...
