The laws changed in Texas not too long ago. You have to be 18 years old with a valid picture ID. Parental consent is no longer accepted. The ONLY exception is if the tattoo is to cover gang related stuff. Any place that is willing to tattoo a minor should be avoided at all costs. If they are willing to break that law, there's no telling what other laws, such as those put in place for health and safety reasons, they are breaking.

There is no Federal Law on tattooing..........it is the state that put
down the individual laws. There are as many laws as there are states.
Some say the artist has to have a license..........checked regularly by the Health Dept.
If one placed is closed because of a health prob..............all they have to do is change the name of the shop and they're back in business. That's why you have to be so careful and ask around about the different shops.
Believe it or not New York, just in the past couple years made
it legal to do tattoos...............everything was underground before.
I live in Pennsylvania, and there are no laws...................if you are underage and a parent or legal guarding are with you,
you can get a tattoo and there are other states that are the same. So these people that tell you "no, you must be 18", don't know what they are talking about.
Just get on-line and ask about the laws in your state.

hope I helped......

You have to be 18, even with a parent. Sorry.

to get a tattoo anywhere you have to be 18 unless a parent/guardian or responsible adult over the age of 18 accompanies you!
